Hey Zwiebel I was just curious if Bards will ever become Int based. As of right now from the sounds of it all of their song buffs and everything is a level based formula, but I think it would make more sense if they were an INT based formula. A buffer class to me seems like they should be int based I dunno. Anyone else have thoughts/ideas about it?

I agree, they should be int based, and a few thief skills and future bard skills should be worked into a mix of int and agil.

For example, make the songs increase another units str/int/agil whatever by a percentage of the bards int, say they 0.3 you're currently working with. That way the bard pumps out a solid buff of whatever stat a unit needs and makes use of what should become its own primary attribute.

Also, skills like dazing trap, steal, maybe even acid, should have multipliers based on int.

0.3 x int for acid, units sleep for a 5th of the thieves int, steal has a higher chance of better items based on int, or even agility since its about being nimble.
Working a few int based stat modifiers into the thief skills that seem based around things like bombs and traps makes sense to me.

i have a pretty good bard and as for now (1.1i) all the bard does is buffing with str buff which is 0.3 of casters lvl. however drums give some int, that makes bard users think that int might become useful in future versions. i think strength of bard spells should be based on int but that will make his base stat (agi) useless :S

i don't play bard, but i think it should be like druid: mainstat is agi but to be effective he needs int. It could be done by changing the buffs formula to something like caster lvl*# + spellpower*# bonus to whatever

Currently bard is easily the most underdog class, compared to its alternate.
By taking into account that some of the EARLIER skills could be int based, the class could become more complex and more popular.

It doesn't need to have int as a mainstat but could at least have some skills that rely on it earlier in the game.

You're right there, there are quite a few int based classes.
So why not remove int from bard items until they have an actual use for it because right now it does nothing.

My opininon:

Bards agility, int and strength stats are totaly fucked up. Changing from thief into a bard gives you +0 agility, nearly no strength (+3 on lvl 31), and massively wierd intelligence (+12 on lvl 31). You will have and also gain same much str/int per level.
Change that into maybe smth like 2 str 3.3 agi 1 int ratios.

Furthermore also the misc items give a bard intelligence. The best misc item for a bard contains 3 agi 3 int and a 7% attack speed aura. Thats a very weak. How about 4 agi 5% crit and 10% attack speed aura?

And the ultimate could improve the main stat of the heroes cast on: Eg. +10 Int / +10 Agi / +10 Str.

Thief to Bard gives you no base stat bonuses (no tier-up does), but improves 0.4 Str/lvl to 0.5, and improves Int from 0.2 Int/lvl to 0.6. No agi gains.

Pity Int does NOTHING for the Bard.
