Avatar 0.59

James Cameron's A V A T A R,
the warcraft 3 map, by Dj0z.

This map reuses the universe from the movie and the Xbox360 game, to make something unique.
Some things may vary from the original movie/game, for the sake of gameplay and/or technical reasons.
Only the introduction is predefined, how it ends will depend on how good you fight.

Story
(/!\ SPOILERS WARNING)

Pandora: In the Alpha Centauri star system, a moon called Pandora is home to an overscaled flora, fauna, and the Na'vi people.
They're a race of sentient, civilized humanoids, way less technologically advanced than humans. The fact that they live in constant harmony with nature probably kept them away from this need.

Eywa is Pandora incarnate. The Na'vi believe that Eywa's actions keep all life on Pandora in a perfect equilibrium.

R.D.A.: The human R.D.A. (Resources Development Administration) has sent a large deployment on this planet to gather the precious room-temperature supraconductor mineral called Unobtanium. It's the key to solve the energy crisis that mankind found itself in.
Because of the extremely dangerous nature of the pandorian environment, operations are under heavy military protection.

Avatar: Planning to use diplomacy in order to obtain peaceful cooperation from the Na'vi, the R.D.A. has genetically engineered hybrids of Human and Na'vi races, called the Avatars. Their external appearance is mostly Na'vi.

Roles
Gameplay changes COMPLETELY from one role to another. Play as:

  • One of the four Human R.D.A. Corporations (Corps):
Benefiting from their advanced technology, the Corps can build large and heavily defended bases providing protection from the deadly environment of Pandora.

By using their different types of factories and their spaceships, they are able to build up powerful forces with world-shattering firepower.

They apply organized military strategies, so their soldiers, mechas, vehicles, aircrafts, but also stationary weaponry and long-range artillery can eliminate any opposition, including Eywa itself.

  • One of the four Avatars:
Taking advantage of both their human and na'vi advantages, the Avatars follow their instincts to guide them on Pandora.

Making use of plants, animals, and everything they can find including human weapons, they train their survival skills to the level where this hostile planet becomes a paradise for them.

Gathering forces from the whole environment, including the Na'vi, they eventually unite the planet in the righteous war against the human invader.

  • Eywa, the omnipresent overmind of the planet:
A true living entity worshipped as a deity by the Na'vi protects Pandora.

As the reckless Corps pillage, kill, and destroy, Eywa gets stronger and uses its planetary powers to stop them, before everything is ruined forever.

Features

  • A ton of carefully selected and exploited imports (models, icons, music etc...) provide an astounding gaming experience.

  • Alot of custom systems using vJASS, JASS, hashtables and GUI:

  • Units have alot of custom abilities and effects.

  • Advanced unit-item interactions:
    -Some units will drop their weapon (e.g. Flamethrower for Firebats) upon death, or when Disarmed by a special action;
    -You can pick up items on the ground to use them directly (like Avatars using dropped Rocket Launchers) or to change job (like Workers becoming Privates by grabbing SubMachineGuns);

    -You can mass-train workers into soldiers instantly in two clicks, with whatever type of weapon you want;
    -Soldiers can drop their weapons to become Workers, if you want to repair/build something for example;

  • Inventory systems:
    -The items a unit can use are restricted by the unit's type;
-A unit cannot have weird amounts of some items, depending on where they are held: for example an Avatar has 2 hands, so it cannot have 2 lances + 1 shield at once.

  • Exclusive custom projectile system for many units:
-For example: 30mm Autocannon users can miss depending on distance to target, and in that case their bullets can deal collateral damage.
-Projectiles like bullets can also Ministun certain types of enemies, and score Headshots on independent types of enemies.
-Projectiles like Missiles can knockback enemies where they land, deal mixed damage (siege + molecular, at once), etc...
-Some units can shoot multiple individual projectiles at once, not based off warcraft's lame multishot ability, not 1 projectile with a model that looks like multiple projectiles either.
For example, a Scorpion assault copter shooting two 30mm bullets plus two micromissiles, all behaving differently, yet all shot at the same time.

  • Riding System:
-You can make your Avatar mount an Animal. it will carry your Avatar around but they remain separate units able to perform actions individually.
For example while your ridden Toruk unit is chasing an aircraft, you can attack something else with your hero Avatar by throwing glaives, you can use your items, Persuade a unit, as if you were on the ground.

  • Custom Dollars (gold) and materials (wood) gathering systems:
-Build metal extractors for materials, then forget about them, they'll keep providing you with materials while you focus on the action. You can also space-drop some from your I.S.V. spaceship (more info about this abit below).
-Dollars (gold) is mainly obtained by exploiting Unobtanium Deposits not very fast with some workers, or dramatically faster when you manufacture dedicated vehicles that can just rip it off the ground and deliver it directly. You can also use space drops for this resource.

  • Quests for both sides, especially for Avatars, who have an RPG gameplay.

  • Mecha system (A.M.P. suits): Put your human soldiers and heroes in robots.
Each type of foot unit gets its own corresponding type of AMP (a Firebat will get a robot with a flamethrower, a Rocket Trooper will get another type of robot, that shoots rockets, etc...)

  • Spaceship drops system: obtain more personnel or resources from your I.S.V. very fast, anywhere you or any ally have built a Space Pad at.

  • Custom camera system:
-Use any zoom from "almost touching the ground" to "orbital height", abit like in Supreme Commander the actual game (except units don't become just colored icons).
-Rotate the camera in all 4 cardinal directions fast and easily by just hitting keyboard shortcuts (toggleable).

  • Avatars special stats:
-Understanding of Flora/Fauna/Na'vi/Humans: Obtained via killing, using Discover/Interact or performing special actions, they unlock new possibilites in their respective domains.
For example you can play an Avatar focusing on harassing Humans. You'll increase your Understanding in that domain by doing so, and unlock new possibilities like Breaking AMP weapons or Sabotaging Corp buildings.
Another example: you can focus on Understanding Animals and become able to Persuade increasingly strong beasts, in larger amounts, and get better items from them.

-Charisma: obtained by killing units yourself, will increase your Persuasion capability.

  • Living and dynamic environment:
    -Trees regrow from their stumps when cut down, these stumps can be destroyed forever by R.D.A. workers;
-Trees can cause special effects, like clouds of acid or mist disabling ranged attacks...
    -Animals respawn from their natural habitat, which can be destroyed forever;
-Animals have specific behaviours depending on their types, they can be captured by avatars or controlled by Eywa.

  • and much more...

The systems are good and i generally like the map.

But the terrain isnt anything like the real avatar..
it needs a massive increase in doodads(you can use the jassnewgen expansion on the world editor so you can have unlimited doodads).

You should use custom doodads, such as long grass and different trees.
You should also change the tint of the trees etc.
+ add a better fog :)

I like alot of the skins, but some of them could be edited more to make them more bluey like avatars :)

I've got a small idea.
What about "Tribe's Meeting Lodge" (or whatever) building for Avatars that provides upgrades for your units, but to get them you have to have enough human/na'vi/nature/something else understanding points. Like to increase na'vi hp and damage, you have to know about na'vi themselves and about humans, to know how Na'vi can counter them. Or shall we say knowledge of nature can increast hp regeneration rate of na'vi. Every higher level research would require you to know more than previous.
na'vi could aslo praise eywa or something like that... some kind of ritual or something that would give Eywa some mana...

Talking about Eywa, there are some more suggestion:
-"Fly swarm" swarm of mosquitos attack all the infantry in AoE, forcing them to drop weapons and flee. Of course people have defencive suits, but the whole swarm of deadly bugs can still be terrifying you know.
-"Shower of hail" attacks all the corps in the area, slowong them down and damaging a bit. Vehicles get no damage but move in slower. Hmmm, kinda lots of abilities for Eywa... but oh well, it's kinda intresting this way too...
-"Spiritual link" buffs na'vi unit or an Avatar. 'nuff said.
-"Gas cloud" creates a cloud of organic gases in target area that explode after some time or if someone passes trough them.
-"Heavy rain" works in AoE (again), slowing all the corps (Vehicles may get completely stuck in dirt) and healing Na'vi.
-"Fog". Hides Na'vi and animals in a fog for some time.
-"Increased growth". Allows your trees to regrow faster. Or at least a one tree. can also heal home tree.

Finally an update. Let's get this thing tested!

Avatars:
* Weird issue with the Quest Giver: before you talk to the Na'vi, the Animal quest icon is a big green square, but goes back to normal once you talk to them.
* The Avatar lacks a portrait.
* The (very, very) long cooldown on Discover is very grating, could you move it to the front and levelable (just like Interact)?
* Using a spear on a neutral animal doesn't make it aggressive.
* The Medkit's tooltip says you can use it to heal others, rather than instantly healing your avatar.

RDA:
* The ISV has two requst delivery buttons during the intro, one disappears later.
* I can't find Snipers, are they a foot unit or a mech?

That's all for now.

Glad you appreciate the systems :) they take alot of time and testing to make.

For terrain, it is constantly being improved. I'm alrdy using JNGP but i don't want too many doodads anyways, because it makes the editor slower and that is not compatible with my poor comp >.<.

There are alrdy custom doodads, like conic and puffball trees, but i'll definitely add more.
+What's wrong with the current fog :O?

Skins: I have to draw them myself since noone else does :O this is how i got the skin for Na'vi huntrees/Neytiri. I'll draw more, but it takes much time so i ain't in a hurry to do that.

I've got a small idea.

I was thinking of something like that :) and the whole Understanding of <bla> concept will get a major improvement in terms of intuitiveness soon, be sure to check that out.
I approve the "Praise Eywa" thingy too :) I'll add that.

About Eywa spell suggestions, i like most of these ideas, actually so much that some of them are already ingame :D like:
-Spiritual Link, is already Blessing (pandoran spellbook);
-Gas Cloud sounds very similar to Green Martyr (flora spellbook), but then again, i was thinking of a corpses version;
-Heavy Rain is The Rain :D (weather spellbook)
and you can heal trees with Green Peace.

However, i like Fly Swarm and Fog, things liek that were already planned for implementation :). For the regrow faster spell, the way regrowth is coded won't allow that alas.
Keep the ideas coming!

That's all for now.

As usual, nothing can escape ur eye :p though i wouldn't mind if you'd tell what things you like more often aswell ^^

Avatars:
*Yup i just noticed that too, icon will be fixed.
*I already notified Misha about this portrait :).
*Discover is like that now because it should force the player to choose between bonuses (or at least, their global flavour).
An Avatar will no longer be supposed to be able to get them all in the same game. Part of the customization, cuz atm, all Avatars look pretty much the same endgame if it lasts long, with everything unlocked in all domains.
*Right, i'll fix aggro trigger.

RDA:
*Yea the first one is the "intro version", which can be used on flat ground. That's why it disappears. Does it look weird :O?
*Snipers are not yet implemented. Sometimes Banefull and i don't work on the same fields in a given version, and it can give such results :x.

EDIT: 0.32 is out, with a new spell for Eywa, and fixes for some of the above bugs.

Rest assured that if I'm not complaining about it, it's because I like it.

That said, I do like the mech system and the unobtainium upgrades (though I'm still of the opinion that some could be made into money upgrades), Eywa's spells are nice (though the Bird Patrol is weird: it should have the birds attacking directly instead of throwing missiles).

Oh, as of this writing .32 isn't up yet...

Damn, forgot about abilities Eywa already has... haven't played for a while...
Well, here's more of my precious brainstorming:
-Mana for corpses. Yes, Eywa can root the corpses, turning them into mana instead of using as a weapon. But of course you'll have to see the corpses for that.
-"Erosion". Stops all the metal mines for a while, making corps unable to get more materials... oh my that's n ot such an invantive idea, I think I'll go brainstorm more for inspiration...

Yup, I don't see 0.32, only 0.31!

Maybe give Viperwolves and Thanators Cannibalize?

Just an idea, unsure of how it'd be implemented, but could you make Viperwolves attack in packs? Right now, they're stupidly easy to kill alone or in pairs, there's only one or two places where there are enough attacking to make a credible threat.

Eywa can control animals, right? This is how we make packs in this game.

Oh, so what about that regrowth or whatever beeing able to regenerate the Hometree building hp then?

Errrr, now it is properly updated. And it didn't move the map up in the map list, just like it wasn't updated, yet it actually is o_O no idea what happened there.

Fair enough for the things you like :)

About the birds, since they have copter-like flying height (pretty high) it would look weird if they'd hit stuff on the ground from such height, i mean with close camera views, you wouldn't even know what hit you. Hence the dropped kunais vs ground units. I thought rocks would look too heavy for birds to throw around.

Actually i like this idea :).
Erosion was creative but i don't think it would fit very well.

And the ability to heal hometrees in your other post: guess i could add that effect to Green Peace easily, i'll do that.

Maybe give Viperwolves and Thanators Cannibalize?

Cannibalize: something will have it, not sure if it will be these ones only though.

Viperwolf packs: yea that is indeed hwo they should work, but i didn't get around to coding it so far.
About the "wander in defined areas" thingies like Toruks, well Toruks an all other animal AI changes in 0.31 were an experimentation for the rest of the animal behaviours to come. There will be precise areas where u can find more of this or that type of animal/plant for all types, and more territorial behaviours like toruks with the North.

I've played your map, all i can say is Good Job, altouh the avatars are kinda *** ****ed in the beginning if the Human Corporations come for them, and tree's start of all early.
Due to that, i and the other avatars quickly got to the Clan leader position, build up baseses around Eywa and after that started holding and then attacking the humans, eventually winning easily.
But then one of them managed to esacpe with some builders up on some hills, but i easily found 'em due to the animal view.
Overall, 4/5 since its still a beta.(I played v0.31)

Edit: I also found a wierd bugg: Humans cant get over the food-cap of 50, i suggest makingthem able to higher it to at least 70 after an ammount of time, so that they could at least try resisting the avatar's attacks.

Hey, i really loved this map, i hosted it for my friends and they all loved it. But i found a bug whit the R.D.A that is when you use any unit to get one of those robot suits and spam right clicks on it you get more units of that type from one worker or soldier, for example if you take your hero and spam right click at the big building where those robot suits are made you can get maybe 2-3 heroes more. But when they all die you can only respawn one hero again.

First time i log on this account just cause to say that to you.

how about making a ai system for avatars, marines n eywa when no one is them so they still does something even if someone leaves
That is much more complicated to achieve than these simple animal behaviours, so no. There will be a system allowing Observer slot to take over a leaver's slot though.

Thanks for the rating :)
I see you're saying that Avatars are imba, well i do think they reach high power too fast aswell. This is being fixed in 0.33, along with many other Avatar gameplay and player-friendliness improvements. They also get slowed down for both balance and learning curve.

About humans they can get to 60 foodcap via an Unob-Upgrade, and if there are leavers, it can go much higher due to food-auto-balance, even though for reasons unknown yet, it sometimes bugs as of now.
Were the humans against you using any types of vehicles, and having Dispersors and Sentries in their base?

Hey, i really loved this map, i hosted it for my friends and they all loved it. But i found a bug whit the R.D.A that is when you use any unit to get one of those robot suits and spam right clicks on it you get more units of that type from one worker or soldier, for example if you take your hero and spam right click at the big building where those robot suits are made you can get maybe 2-3 heroes more. But when they all die you can only respawn one hero again.

First time i log on this account just cause to say that to you.
That is much appreciated :) +rep

About that bug, i think i saw something similar happen myself, i'll look into it.

Aye, Vehicle's. We were even getting those Robo-Machine-thingies burnin' down our tree's, but we capped theyer asses later n' made them lunch, harr.

Edit: When one of those tree's die, it kinda reminds me of the drama that happened in the movie when the first giant tree fallen, adn that made me sad, totally.frickin.sad. Good job on making that one.

Edit#2: Uh, if you mean those Bunkers and Giant towers that were similar to the ones from Star wars, Aye those too. But we managed to attack them twice and make them bite the dust, because we were three avatars versus three R.D.A Companies.

-So they had vehicles and micromissile towers yet you defeated them easily?! :O so either you guys play Avatars like pros, or something was wrong in Corp defense imo.

-Glad you like the movie-like Hometree death effects :D.

I keep getting this error when im playing u game
33peeqh.jpg

how can I fix it?

I am sorry but i have no idea.

I can't remember how long you have until diplomacy changes, but you can use Interact on human units before they're hostile, is that imbalanced?

The damage caused to non-enemies by Interact when disarming has been removed in 0.33 :) for the weapon steal itself, it might be abit imba, not sure yet.

Im gonna try out this one aswell, see if i can host it tough since people dont really like maps like these.
But oh well, ill see what ican see.

Well if you don't manage to get people in, there's a bot that hosted it around 40 times today on all realms so you might wanna /whois it or something.

Problem with the (computer-controlled) Na'vi: Their towers don't attack.

Also, often times they run away when under fire, or don't react to their base being attacked.

Yea there's noone inside... i'll make that better.
For their behaviour, i expect somethign smarter from the AI, but Corps would usually slaughter them anyways.
We're getting closer to strong Na'vi villages that put up a challenge, but not nearly there either.

Meh, alright map I guess, although grade is to much I vote 1/5 to lower it a bit

Are you kidding me?
You're not supposed to vote anything else than the rating you think it deserves.
Since you're taking it that way you better go downrate all the DBZ loap island defense anime footy aos etc clones too.
So that it remains "sorta" fair.
Go and see their 5/5s with shittons of bugs, screwed up anims, non-existent balance, cheat codes, horrible terrains and stuff, and then dare tell me this map deserved a 1/5.

Since I got a warning from some admin with interraction something something, im not going to change my vote

We could have solved it in a more civilized way and I could have changed the vote if you so badly wanted it, but now you have to live with my 1/5 vote

Have a nice day

P.S. I do vote 1/5 of those maps and I have voted a lot on shitty maps

I don't really doubt about the "warning" though, but you're not gonna troll me any longer.

Aaaaaanyway.

* Medkit icons also have the "bright green square" appearance when the game is paused.
* Discovering Eywa gets you experience but no message on the subject.
** Might want to make the cave around Eywa impassable to air units as well.
* Discovering the Na'vi gets a message saying you can get lvl 2 items from corps soldiers, are you sure that's right?
* The Riding avatar doesn't keep the Agility bonus from Viperwolves.
* Also, something needs to be done about the rider's Interact: either remove it or make it a different ability with more appropriate effects (for example, no breaking necks on viperwolves or disarming foot soldiers while in the air; but Interacting with trees would still be possible) and slightly longer range (As the current rider Interact requires him to be directly over the target).
** That actually gives me an idea: if you ever give the avatars the ability to mount ikrans, the rider's Interact and Persuade abilities could be changed so the only way to convert the Toruk is to be on a Ikran in the first place (Yes, I want this map to be as much like the movie as possible, sue me). And the "Interact causes the creep to run away" thing could be used here, justified in-game by having the animal terrified of the incoming Toruk.
* An interesting side effect of the Animal neutrality: Attacking a creep gets any surrounding animals and/or Na'vi to attack it as well. I think you can set players to be allied with neutral hostile (and vice versa), so you might want to look into that.
* Will you reskin the floating Outland rocks to look like the actual Hallelujah mountains? (Pleeeeeease?)

*Medikit icon: fixed in 0.35.
*It wasn't supposed to do anything actually. Any idea what it could do? A new non-bonus ability?
**Hmm that could make sense, but i ain't sure, since you can shoot from the back of it (the upper ground) inwards, so why wouldn't copters be able to pass. Then again, they're bigger than a missile... Not sure at all.
*That is indeed a bug. You just reminded me that i forgot to code the Na'vi unlocks.
*That glitch was predictable :p will be fixed.

*Rider Interact: i'll spend some time refining riding, and that will be a part of it.
**Being on an ikran, required to capture Toruk: i approve. Will be added alongside ikran riding.
*Animal neutrality: i was recently brainstorming about swapping the "Animals" player for a "Aggressive Natives" one, that would include all currently aggressive animals and plants ( <-coming soon), and non-aggressive ones would just be neutral passive or something. Let me know if there could be any inconvenience with that way, according to you.
*Well i'll give it a try, at least.

* Maybe Understanding in everything but Human (or just Flora and Na'vi, since you're more likely to use interact on animals).
* I don't know why I was so sure Eywa was in a cave, forget about it.
* Setting the critter animals (e.g. crabs, but you should add some more, like birds or lizards) to neutral passive is good, but the main problem I see with the animals is that if you attack one, all other animals will join in to kill it, despite the fact that they'd be attacking each other in reality. So unless you can work out a triggered pack system (Viperwolves and Titanotheres defend their own but leave you alone if you take on a Thanator), I think the best thing to do is set the alliances ("Make player Animals neutral towards Neutral Hostile" and vice-versa) via triggers.
** Also they're everywhere, including inside the villages. So if you set them and the Na'vi to be enemies, it'll require a lot more triggering to tell them which places to avoid. But yeah, if you're willing to do the extra triggering, go ahead.

* Agressive plants? Really? I only recall that flower that shrivels up if you touch it...
* Maybe have a roosting form for ikrans, to be placed in the mountains?
* The more I think about it, the more I think the braid-link and Persuasion should be the same, though that will require some retooling (not able to persuade them from miles away, etc).
* Why do the items for the avatars show up on the ground rather than held by the avatar? (And for that matter, there are four sets of items that appear, instead of however many Avatar players there are.)
* Thanator valley isn't very valley-ish...
* Still about Bird Patrol: can't you set them to change flying height to that of the targeted unit? As far as I can tell, it's based on Locust Swarm, where the bugs do damage by contact, only here it's with birds (à la Hitchcock).

*Well now i made it unlock shared control at some point, not of much use, but at least it has one.
*
*I'll need to actually try out all the possibilites.
**I don't think i'd make na'vi and them at war. At worst they could be the same player but i'll try to avoid that.

*Yeah aggressive plants. Avatar The Game has many of them, and the models exist already.
*Maybe.
*I'll avoid mixing tsaheylu and persuasion as much as i can. That might mean tsahaylu would not need implementation, but it could go another way.
*That was a quick fix for a very serious bug, i'll fix that.
*Zones will be reworked :)
*I'll try.

EDIT: 0.35b is out.

I just couldnt play this game, even though i saw the extreme time in the story, abilities and features you must have spent, that undoubtly would make this game great, its just lacking tremendoesly in something.Terrain.

Really, the terrain took ALL the fun, and made it second rate.Remember, the terrain is some of the most important aspect of the game, its the thing we have to look at.
You might consider getting someone who is very good at making terrain for it; because it just wont work.
I guess the game could be awesome....its just the terrain...why dont you ask around in terrain forums or something.

Eywa: Nothing to say, I like the spells.

RDA:
* Commander's AMP takes up three slots while in transport.
* I think the Valkyrie upgrade icon is the same as the Samson.
* I think the Armor Bay's cost should be decreased, along with construction time, as it is now an essential part of gameplay.

Avatars:
* Could you make weapons stackable? For example, more than six shots with the SMG?
* A weird one: after using the medkit on himself or another, the avatar freezes. (He resets as soon as he's given an order, but it's still strange.)
* Is there a purple version of the wolfcap?
* You can carry two Titanothere bones. Don't care how slow attack speed is, +800 damage is going to hurt.
** Speaking of which, the idea of ripping bones out with his bare hands seems a bit strange... Titanothere Tusk maybe?
** Or some kind of minor crafting system, where you rip off a chunk of hide/skin/tusk or something to get a crude version, then upgrade it (for money or via skills) to a better version (so Thanator Hide->Thanator Armor; Viperwolf Pelt->Viperwolf Cap, Thanator Tusk->Thanator Lance, etc.)
* The pickaxe, of which you can also obtain two, doesn't seem to do anything.
* Some items such as the Mirrorshell and Ikran Pickaxe have ingame descriptions that are too long (not the one on the inventory, the one that shows up in the unit info screen), the bottom line is illegible.
* Little thing: change the Toruk's description so it doesn't read like the Na'vi regularly train them.

Other
* Weird thing happened: A Toruk randomly changed color as it was flying along, then went back.
* Seems to me flyers have very small vision for their size (especially the Valkyrie), it just looks strange when in bird's eye view to have vision restricted so much.
* I like the Underground Passages idea, will there be more? And what will you put in the mountains?
* I didn't manage to replicate it, but Titanothere Presence showed up as a green square in the "auras affecting this unit" space at the bottom.

All for now...

Eywa: nice :)

RDA:
*Commander AMP: fixed in 0.36, thanks.
*I'm pretty sure it isn't... or did i fail to upload the finished 0.35 x.x?
*Precisely, Armor Bay is now the transition between the oh-so-fragile tier of infantry, and all the vehicle ones. For that reason i find it nice that its cost now feels like an effort, sort of like upgrading townhall in normal war3.

AVATARS:
*That is precisely what you get from having higher Understanding of Humans. Other than that, i have no plans to make ammo stackable.
*Oh you mean his animation? Are you sure it doesn't happen with every type of item?
*There's no purple version of wolf cap. I have not asked permission to edit it either, and i don't feel like doing it for now at least.
* +800 dmg sure does :). good thing enemies have some armor, eh?
**Well i needed any basic name for it, so i took bone. I don't know what a tusk is, neither if there's a tusk icon ingame.
**I do not approve another crafting system as of now, because i'm trying to keep it simple (particularly for Avatars). There's already alot to learn and read for newcomers, and recipe crafting systems can overcomplicate it pretty fast.
*Well i witnessed pickaxe doing its job, what did you use it on?
*Ingame descriptions: will fix later.
*Toruk description: fixed in 0.36.

Other:
*That is a part of the day/night bug, i assume it will be fixed aswell when the day/night bug gets fixed.
*Increased Valkyrie sight in 0.36, but for others i don't get what's wrong.
*There will be more underground passages. Mountains will have tons of ikrans, and i don't know what else yet.
*Icon: fixed in 0.36.

Armor Bay: The main reason I miss the ability to get AMPs faster is because you can't get access to Worker AMPs, which are vital. Still, I suppose it makes sense in mutiplayer... (After all, what do I know about game balance?)

Oh, I also found the Titanothere Presence bug. You might want to change the description (or the ability), currently it implies that all allied units (i.e. Na'vi and Animals cpu-controlled players) will benefit from it.

-Now there is a clear infantry stage where you'll have to cut your way through the jungle to get the metal extractors, so you can reach the powerful vehicle stage.

-What bug? I just checked and saw nothing bizarre...

I meant the icon problem, I thought the aura affected allied players, so that's why I'd put "unable to replicate" earlier. My comment about the description still stands though.

Tusk (défenses) (Huzzah, I helped the spread of knowledge!).

I'm not sure about the animation bug with other items, since usually a move order is given right afterwards.

The crafting thing was more of an cosmetic thing, feel free to ignore it.

Pickaxe: Used it on an Ikran and a Toruk, both on foot and while riding.

Annnndd i still don't get what is wrong with description :O does the ability do anything not as advertised?

Ah well tusks could do too, but i don't think they're any easier to rip out than a bare bone, are they?

I'll look into that anim thing then.

Crafting: okay

Pickaxe: and it didn't do anything? i think someone reported something like "doesn't work on stunned units", do you confirm?

New versions are awesome :]. Keep them coming!

Heh don't worry about that :)

looks promising. i'll test it right away, best 4 you that you made the Hallelujah mountains and the tree of souls

I'm currently making them more like in the movie in 0.37, but they're ingame already yea.

I was talking about the fact that units belonging to a different player allied with you don't benefit from the ability (Na'vi and Animals). For instance, a Viperwolf standing right next to a Titanothere (both controlled by the Animals player) has the aura, but if you persuade the Titanothere, the Viperwolf loses the aura, since each unit now belongs to a different player.

Tusks are still more believable then bones.

I don't know, I'll try it later.

Ah i see now. You're never actually an "ally" strictly speaking, of animals, unles you're player Eywa. That's why i renamed "animal alliance to "animal neutrality" recently. This is why the aura won't apply between an avatar player and player animals, it affects only allies, not neutrals.

I just realized Titanotheres don't have tusks anyways... they have hammer-shaped giant shield thing before their head, but they ain't elephants.

)Btw spoiler: Terrain will get a major facelift in 0.37 :)
