Audio Editor

Does anybody know a program that I can use to edit music, sounds, etc?
Like edit out segments of a song or add segments or mix music or something like that. Any recommendations are appreciated!

Audacity is good one, and its free. There may be better ones, but this is what I used before, and it works wonders.

it can also be used to capture any sound played by your computer

What about a program for modifying voices and creating voice acting yourself? Any good audio editor for that?

If you wanna spend some bucks: people who work with audio professionaly commonly use Sony Vegas and Soundforge. And the learning curve isn't punishing anyway, nowadays we have plenty of tutorials around the internet.

As others said, Shaod Fury, Audacity works pretty well for that.
Maybe give this a look: YT Video, showing you how to create a Protoss voice in insane 43 seconds.

I personally use the Power Sound Editor. It is way easier to use than Audicity and works wonders too. Also, about Virtual DJ, it is only good for disco/music remix. Not really a good choice for game musics.

Depends on if you need effects or not.

Audacity can only do very basic stuff in that regard. It's great if you just need some slight compression and EQ, but if you need more fancy stuff (like when you want to create convincing monster sounds or voices), you should probably look into professional software like Cubase, Logic, Garage Band, Reason, Pro Tools or Reaper.

Try FL studio. Its also great for mixing instrumental loops or anything you want.

I've been using Reaper for streaming and vocal covers the last few months. It's free the first 60 days, and is really cheap.
The benefit of it is that you can modify your effects easily while listening to your recordings to see if it suits your needs.
