[Trigger] as a noob, I need help, please

Well, this is my first post in hiveworkshop. So I was trying to copy some custom abilities and their triggers. The problem is, the copy of the triggers always went error every time I tested the map.

Since I understand nothing at making or editing trigger, I really need help on this. It's okay if you guys would lol at me for being such an idiot or something, whatever. But please, just share the way to make the trigger copies to work.

Btw, I was trying to use the ability Meat Hook v.01c created by RiotApe

When I clicked 'Test Map'

Hey,
first of all.. no one is getting laughed for starting map making.
Anyone started exactly like you, so don't worry about asking 'stupid' questions.

You should read some trigger tutorials (some good ones are here on hive).
They will help you comming into map making alot faster!


And to your problem, I guess you have to many unknown variables.
Change the settings from your world edit.
Unknown variables should be created automatically.

If you turned this on, delete your trigger and recopy it again.

and the red text is that a variable does not exist in your map but you can fix this by:
1. open the editor
2. click flie>preferences
3. check the "automaticly create unknown variables when pasting trigger data"
4. copy your trigger

well, I tried to turn on "automaticly create unknown variables when pasting trigger data" and some other things, resulted in success for making the triggers OK but the ability just won't work on my map

Any opinion/advice guys?

Propably the triggers refer to a wrong ability. Post the triggers or the map.

Wrong ability in the condition most likely:

• (Ability being cast) Equal to One Shot, One Kill Maybe

Undefined line, propably dummy unit type:

• Set MeatHook_ChainType = Value

Additionally, the spell leaks and the looping trigger is nevet turned off.

Instead of using a share site you could attach your map in this thread by clicking on "Go Advanced below" then click the "Manage Attachements" button below as well, which will open a window to you where you can click "Browse" that will open a small browser window of your computer, you then select the map and click "Upload" button on the right then close the window and here you go, you have your attached file

Thanks Maker for checking the triggers. I fixed those, and the ability (unit pull and damage) works except the chain and the hook head never came out -_-"
