Are there bots writing fake reviews on Amazon?

Hi,

I was just curious, are there nefarious companies who automate generating fake reviews of products?

I can't see why an individual person with no affiliation to a product or company having any reason to spam the reviews.

For that matter, why are youtube video comments also spammed? Some of these comments aren't even links to products either or attempts to infect people's computers with malware.

Bots no, but there are people writing fake reviews, there is nothing new there.

They can be robots, they can also be real people (when extra intelligence is needed to bypass tests). They can be a combination with the robot tricking people into solving the tests.

Look for reviews that are critical. They should never only mention positive things.
