AoS in the making... But, what can I put in that's unique?

Huhuhu! I have a nice idea for an AoS, I'm using it myself, but anyway
-1 I'll never finish the map because I'm lazy
-2 Nobody will like it so I'm not afraid anyone could steal it
My idea is no levels. Max hero level: 1. Haha! It's all about the items. And all heroes have all 4 spells since the beginning, so they can think of combos without levelling up anything, and nobody can be left behind. Then I was thinking to put around some health and mana runes, like the items in First Person Shooters.

Heres What I would do
1) AI for the Creep (Mostly just the archers)
-When the Archers are attacked-Order Archers to move to 500 offset 180+angle between attacking unit and them
-When tanks die-Order archers to move to the nearest tower + 500 offset behind.

So the archers over time will gather and eventually become a heafty force to be reckoned with. Though can be killed pretty easily by an AoE Spell, there is also a chance they may focus fire your hero before or while your casting your spell.

2) More Kaboom! (Make Certain Tanks Kaboom on Towers so they are one of the more feared units)

3) Make Noobified Heroes that are very powerful but can only do so much. Something that people are afraid of but Can kill so long as they use their spells right. But At least Noobs feel powerful for a few moments.

When I think of a noob character, I think of a raging Bull/Minotaur/Melee Strength Hero with plenty of damage, Blowback and Fast Running Speed. WHile having an aura to help other heroes and A Semi Auto Mana Burn that Destroys minimal amount of mana.

4) Make Tower projectiles slow and non homing... And Give Towers heavy Splash Damage

5) Make sure that heroes' stuns aren't too long and they're spells aren't too op to the point that it becomes a 1 hit kill if you get too close


I have a nice idea. Make an LADDER AOS!

but, well, AI creators, I guess, are still sane...

BTW, I'm talking about what MIX can I put in an AOS? Like Capture the Flag? King of the Hill?

I love duels/Arenas/Gladiator

You could add in every 3 minutes A duel, FFA or Gladiator Match occurs...

As for play modes like capture the flag.
-Your going to need to make sure you turn on/off towers for certain modes

CtF tends to be a fast paced battle. And Towers tend to slow things down a good amount.

King of the hill.... eh...... I'm not sure how you'd work that out... but just thinking about it sounds interesting
-Right off the bat one team would take control of the hill
--As they are taking advantage of enemies creep, the other players would have to go back to the base, upgrade while the enemy team tries to maintain the hill.

Basically, while one team controls the hill the other team would upgrade with items or whatever. Then attack, and if they still cant take the hill (Since raw power might be stronger then items)

I'd be fine with just a flat out AoS with Arena Upgrades and more interesting creeps.

Territories might also be interesting.
-THe more territories you own, the faster enemy heros can level up due to creep kills while also getting pushed back untiul they reach your tower which is where heroes can just sit back and level up and also where enemy heroes can take on another territory.

eh...
I don't care too much for game modes....

That the heroes need to eat, for example.

Put events in a random lane, so that lane is very hard to control, or is easier to control.

Make water on the edges of the map, making it possible for one team to get behind the lane zerg, and go straight for the base, using a boat. Should probably be an event that is either timed, or has to be paid for.

Make sure every single hero has something that is FUN to have. For example, stealth heroes are always fun because you can be sneaky, but a melee hero isn't always so fun, because there's not so much you can do. All heroes should have possible combos that make them easier to start playing.

Add sidequests, which give advantages. For example upgrading weapons of your team, or adding a unit/exchanging a unit in the spawn.

Some suggestions.
-Make melee heroes have skills that can help them survive.
-Give ranged heroes skills that can increase their damage output.
-Give spell casters at least 1 disable/heal/support to make them harder to die.
-Make melee heroes strong early game but balance them out as the game progresses.
-Allow heroes to gain a special skill which is like their true ultimate by completing requirement (say reach max level/get x kills).

I guess thats all I can say right now.

Unique AoS ? Why not make capturable mini-bases... when a side captures a mini base ( which should be somewhere in the middle of the map ) they get control of the area, and thus get extra spawns. (Or maybe a wee bit of extra cash)
Then the winning side gets to build towers at the mini base. ( limit these... u dunt wan anyone to block the entrance with towahs )

This would make AoS more intense ... then u can have heroes specializing in capturing/defending these minibases ! Just in case youre out of hero ideas. ( which happens ever so often ) Like spies or sumthing. =D ( uh oh... team fortress fever taking over =S )

Then at least newbies wont be complaining all the time that they dont get enough kills.... >.>

But of course these bases can be recaptured by the enemy... else it wont be fun.

And i like Zack's idea of a true ultimate. XD
