Animation: Floating Things and Old Buried Stuff

Forgive the pseudo-fancy title, I haven't witten anything in months.

I need help with Magos - more specifally in the animation department. Now, I don't even know if Magos can do animation, that's how much of a noob I am at 3D editing, but I need to give specific models a birth animation that makes them rise out of the ground, and sink into the ground when they die.

I also need to learn how to make things bob up and down like a flying unit does. Or like the gem of the Spirit Tower. Or the wisp. You get the idea.

Finally, not animation-related, is it easy to make a circle of team-coloured runes that I can place around a building/unit/whatever as an attachment? And could you tell me how? Please?

most of the things you are asking is better to make them with 3dsmax, MDLVis or GMAX.

Since you are starting there are two disciplines:

MDL Editing which is to use wc3 modeling tools to edit models like magos, matrixeater and MDLVis as well as editing mdl files by hand through notepad.

High Level Modeling which is done using 3dsmax, GMAX or any other all focused modeling package such as Maya or Blender.

Now, animation is possible in MDLVis but i personaly suggest doing transformation animations either on GMAX or 3ds max.

Try to make a list a sort things you want to learn from easiest to most difficult. I'll give advice on where to go from there on.
