Played about half an hour of it went as far as the north graveyard, must say, you put good work on it, but...
*The music keeps repeating the first few notes in a loop wich was driving me crazy, don't know if its a bug or intended;
*And the fact you start not knowing anything kinda leave your map with no plot, just go around doing stuff randomly for people with no goal or anything is lame, the main reason why WoW sucks
But the quests you made sure look deep, but just runing around getting random quests for unknown people feels boring to me.
Saved it and might end the run some other time. You got skill I just don't like the plot, or lack thereof.
Ah the good old blizzard bugs.I never got a friend request latelly. I usually accept all. And VTMD has the backstory of the actual VTM games, people are drawn to it by them, your amnesia map has no backstory drawing people.
Thanks for your review.Didn't finish it yet with the Senator, fantastic map, saw some mistake I am sure there is more if I find them I will write them:
-"Maelstrom cap" don't give 1k mana like wrote but 4k, I would like to know the amount of the magic shield.
-Smite lvl 1 do 125 to the target and 75 around, but when cast it deal 250 hp show on number and target lose 500 hp ??
-After a certain level of bless I cannot heal myself anymore
-It is a Reforge map, because I couldn't see the chief undead model when we have to creat the cure, and an enemy in the citadel,
I think you should properly test each hero abilities, and ad description like "each level give xx damage or cd and up mana cost by 50" if you want your map to be perfectly enjoyable.
But I'm no mapmaker, so I don't know much.
edit: finish it, wow what an end fight, juts missed one last music between that, and the really end I think but wow.
Hello there. Good game with a very well done map. Nice models and quests.
Playing solo is easy enough, because of the dd i am crusing!
A lot of humor is a real nice detail to the game story.
Unfortunatly when i gathered all 4 items for the cure i paused and saved the game.
Trying to reload caused the game to crush 2 times. I am playing classic.
Sad
I played this RPG Map with 0 expectations and well. . i am sad to say that. . i absolutely . . . . LOVED every second of it!
{Played on the latest War3 version} I played solo on the hardest difficulty (nightmare) with the Blade Master hero first for a few minutes and the second time with the Abyssal Ranger with whom i also finished the map, it took me 4 hours to finish it! (didn't use any cheats) ~Positives:
- The story and all the dialogues between characters were amazing! the story starts slow at first but it gets so much better the more the mistery of this enigmatic world is revealed.
I like how so many creeps and units have their own small dialogue lines, it just makes the map feel so much more alive, my favorite ones were from the polar bearsmeow indeed.
- I like how there are so many shops around the map, so the player is not forced to travel too far away just to check the shop so he can buy new items/pots and sell unwanted items for more cash!
- I liked the spells of the heroes, how they had more than 3 levels (10 max) and how the player was not forced to go all of them at the same time, i always hated when map makers do that, so i am glad to see maps where i can just go and max 1 of my spells first before going for the other ones!
- The boss fights were pretty badass as well!especially the last one, dang, i thought i was a goner at first when i saw the Dark Lord using all those spells
, but i somehow managed to survive and kick his ass eventually
(i had only 5 more lives left after that last fight).
- I liked to see some new unit skins, all the late game demon skins were amazing, even tho i have seen them before, they are still very rare to see in custom maps, i am always glad when map makers use different skins and not always the same old ones!
-And the thing i liked the most about this map >> The MUSIC <<
The music in this map was just Perfect! i have played so many maps where people always use those generic war3 songs and it just gets stale and boring, that's why i always put my own music whenever i play war3 maps, but not THIS time! i was shocked of how well the music you choose merged with the map, all the zones having their own unique music is just such a treat to have, makes the whole experience 10 times better, the songs merged extremely well with each zone!
My favorite ones were of course the music that starts when we enter the graveyard (is "Silent Hill: Promise" one of my favorite songs!) and then the song from the last boss fight with the Dark Lord (it was a song from 2StepsFromHell i believe) their songs are always epic and badass, i am surprised that not more people use those songs in their custom maps.. oh well, atleast someone did, i am glad!
~Negatives/bugs/suggestions:
- When i played the first time with the Blade Master hero and died fighting the slaughterer (abomination), even tho i had 9 more lives left for some reason my hero didn't revive... I played on Local Area network, the second time i played in single player and i didn't have this problem happen again.
- There is a lack of gold usage in the late game, since we can only buy items and combine them, when the character gets maxed with the strongest items money become pretty useless, i suggest implementing some tome shops as well alongside the items shops.
- Not sure this is a bug or intended but whenever i kited back some enemy units near some allied units, the allied units became my enemies as well, like even the shop one time became an enemy lol
- The "Black storm" spell from Abyssal Ranger is kinda bad since is a channeling ability, that is not even doing dmg, i get the idea behind it tho, the mass aoe miss chance for enemies is a decent debuff but in my eyes a channeling ability should be extremely powerful and it should deal damage, especially if is used by a hero, my logic behind this is the following:
Lets say your hero has 2 spells, one of them is an instant spell that deals dmg and the other one is a channeling spell that lasts for 5 seconds and deals dmg, now which one of those two spells do you think should cost more mana and should also do more dmg, well the answer is obvious, the channeling spell should deal atleast 5 times the dmg of the instant cast spell and it should also cost more mana, because during the channeling the hero stays in one place without attacking being totally vulnerable, during this time the hero is supposed to focus and concentrate on this spell right? so is only logical that the spell deals lots of dmg and it should not be weak!
yea i hate channeling spells
- For this kind of map with different difficulties i suggest that when someone manages to finish the map, there should be a text that says on what difficulty you finished the map on, for example, when you put that text that says: "Congratulations you finished the map!" it should say " Congratz you finished the map on "etc" difficulty instead.
~Overall Playing this map was a wild ride, loved the combination of the rpg elements of war3 and the mistery elements of this original story!
My rating for this map can only be an `-._S_.-`
There is the replay, and yea, i always play all my maps on the hardest difficulty because well.. i like the challenge for once and because i want to see if i can actually do it, especially solo! Now that you have somehow beaten nightmare difficulty, You can send me video footage/replay file (Though Im not sure how to watch other people's replays)
There is the replay, and yea, i always play all my maps on the hardest difficulty because well.. i like the challenge for once and because i want to see if i can actually do it, especially solo!you know the saying, you don't know you can do something until you try and do it.
And yea you are right, that song was " karma kamelot" not 2steps, i got confused there, that is one of my favorite songs as well, it just fills you with immense energy whenever you listen to it, is just magical!
Now about how to watch the replays, first off, you need to have the same war3 version of the game as the player did when he played, so we good there (since i played on the latest version ), and second, to watch the replay you need to just double click on it and it will open it through war3 for you, You only need to have the map in the same folder as i did tho, otherwise it doesn't work, for example, you need to have the map file in (Documents/Warcraft III/Maps/Testing/Hive Testing), if you don't have the folders just create a new one and rename it, and thats it, yea thats how war3 works with watching replays, is a headache!
PS. if double clicking on the file doesn't work, then you need to put the replay file in (Documents/Warcraft III/BattleNet/401183864/Replays) and then open war3 and start the replay from single player>View Replays!
yea yet again pretty weird place to store replay, but war3 is weird like that!![]()
Thank you for playing!I played through this solo on normal difficulty as Warlord and imagine my surprise (and horror) when I found out that Warlord has the same voice lines as Serpent from ASMD. I think I prefer a story like Amnesia's, where the story starts out slow and you have to progress through the map in order to learn more. But, maybe have a short introduction during the start of the game like:
"Where are we..?"
"We were on our way to Omnia when suddenly, everything turned black..."
"When we woke up, we were in a strange, yet familiar land..."
So that players don't get confused? But I know that you are not updating this map any longer so it is just a suggestion!
I liked the different, unique models for the demon units. You could have inserted the default WC3 models and call it a day but you did not, so props to you. The upgrading system was great as well. Although I was a bit surprised to find out that you could only upgrade to level 3 on Amnesia.
The text for Warlord's Rally skill is a bit broken. Nothing game breaking though just thought you might want to know. I find Warlord's ultimate skill, World War to be a bit underwhelming. 2000 damage per waves for a total of 3 waves is really unappealing to me. Furthermore, it is a channeling spell which means that you can and definitely will get stunned.
I love that all the bosses drop unique items, but it was really unfortunate that you don't get a chance to use Amnesia's unique item on enemies. The animation is really cool and I hope you get to implement it again in another map.
For some reason, 2 events really stuck with me while playing this map so I thought why not share it as well since I'm already typing an essay at this point. 1. I attacked the friendly polar bears and I got stun-locked for a good 10 seconds... Definitely deserved it.
2. I used Warlord's ultimate skill, World War at the Orc base while fighting the demon units and the entire Orc base turned on me lmao.
Overall, I really enjoyed my time while playing Amnesia RPG. Sure, it is a bit rough around the edges but I still had fun!
