1.3 is out!

-New Civilization: Spanish
-New Unit: Battering Ram
-Only German Light Cavalry are 10% resistant to melee attacks
-Halberdiers can now be built by Russians
-German Castles are restricted to 2 like every other civilization
-Unit tooltips display their plural names now (Train Swordsmen instead of Train Swordsman)
-Fixed bug where game crashes if you use the attack ground command
-Fixed bug where game crashes when computer players are allied
-Two new game modes: 2v2 and 1v3
-Starting options choice time increased from 30s to 60s
-Ages are given their proper names
-Unit portraits have been fixed

Grenadiers, is a fancy name for bombers.

Like Reaper said, nobody threw cannonballs at their enemy, they threw small canister explosives with a primitive fuse... As far as I know Grenadier is a French word for grenade-tosser, and grenade is a French word for small bomb.

1.5 is turning to be a big update, bigger than 1.3

Some new things to come:

-Towers and Castles now have the Dismantle ability
-New trade system at the market
-HP and DPS on units got a complete overhaul

How does bow/crossbow dps fair versus gunpowder? Imo gunpowder should only be a bit stronger, just have much longer range.

Did you make cannons do more dps to infantry, less to buildings, and the opposite for bombards?

The crossbowman should be armoured, have a high defense base and hitpoints. While the gunpowder units would have no armour. In the middle ages and early modern period, gunners were not so effective, and longbowmen could beat them, the gunner's firearms slowly reloaded.

But balancing like that would defeat gunpowder units as a whole then. They should do more dps than arrows and primitive range, while having longer firing range.

Keep in mind that bullets could penetrate the thickest metal armor, and even those they couldn't the concussive force killed the wearer, so gunpowder weapons were far superior, only inferior when pertaining to reload speed, which was pitiful until cartridges were designed.

Gunpowder VS Primitive
Armor, tied, (because 1v1 the armor from a bowman would get shredded by bullets, and the lack of armor by a rifleman would get shredded by arrows)
DPS, tied, (higher damage for gunpowder, faster fire rate for arrows)
Single-hit damage, gunpowder wins,
Range, gunpowder wins,
Penetration, gunpowder wins,

In the end range is always the supreme advantage to all ground forces.

^Did all that.

Gunpowder in aow2 does have an advantage vs armor, and has slightly more dps than arrows ofc since you are upgrading to get better units.

As I said, HP and dps for all units is being refined to make other units useful.

-New Age 3 Heavy Infantry Unit: Champion
-Some Japanese units have been renamed
-Heavy siege and artillery siege roles switched
-Fixed faulty decay anims on some models
-Castle HP reduced from 6000 to 5000
-HP and DPS on units got a complete overhaul

So you want to implement Scandinavians? There was never Viking empire, but there was the union of Kalmar through the late middle age. You could add civilization named Scandinavia. The Union of Kalmar made Denmark ruler of Scandinavia that is why most northern islands are Danish. The Union of Kalmar broke up when Sweden revolted 1522 and broke a united Scandinavia.

You could add generals as heroes. I have morale system that is based on mana. The general can heal mana. Without generals units flee and slowly regenerate mana. They flee when mana is 0. The general could be a hero that keeps morale high and command. I think the general should have names, if German then Karl van Waldemar.

I am not going to make any native american or middle eastern civilization since I lack the models and space.
