Edit: For future person stuck on this issue, the trigger is under "play animation for doodads" and the string is stand alternate

Does anyone remember in the Frozen Throne human campaign where when you step on a rune, it glows? I want to replicate this effect, but the needed tag is "alternate" and, so far as my knowledge goes, this is not possible with the editor, because it's not a unit and it's not in the commonly-selectable destructables.
Also, since I know you can add the "alternate" to a unit, I tried converting a unit model file to match the rune. Instead of doing what I want, the Rune actually becomes completely invisible. Can someone please help me make the Rune glow? I will credit you in my map for this awesome advice.
