i would like to propose hive having for every user an option to allow a user to upload 1 map and save it to his account and only he will be able to see it download it, he can update the map as many times as he wants but may only have 1 map allowance(since more would consume more bandwith)
that way this would help with people losing their protected maps, at least we could have a backup here.

Yes, it seems like an awesome idea, all mapmakers should have this choice. Although dropbox would be a good idea, too, Hive seems much more reliable to me.

So something like a checkbox to decide whether or not the uploaded resource is listed or not. I would not limit it to 1, that's silly.

I often use the pastebin, and i think this is the best idea to store various things on this site. I agree with you.
He might have not known that the pastebin exists.

Most often private things are for temporarily sharing of something, so I believe it fits better.
