A map in a map?!

Hi everyone,I have played Cot rpg 2 plains of medea FoC and there is several minimap in the map. You can go in by clicking on a unit and select which one you want to go in.
It's just incredible.
How does it work?

So where's this map that you talk about never heard of it before. Maybe its not a map, maybe its just another area that is a lot different from other areas.

Several minimaps in one map? Hmm.... It's possible for several maps in one campaign.... Let's see.... I recall Eve of the Apocalypse share such things with multiple minimaps in the map itself.

It's possible to use the same spot for a different area.

I suppose you can instantly reshape an area instantly into something else, that might explain the map into a map thingy.

I think I saw that in a Blizzard map if I'm not mistaken.

It's a rpg map.
In this map you can click on a unit and select 4 different things.
For example the first teleport you in a small area where an infinity of ennemy units are comming (run on you) and you have to kill them during 30 min.
An other is a PVP,you select a player and it teleports both of you to an area to fight.
ect...

i downloaded from epicwar (dont know if its official or not), and i got that buggy, unit teleported to first place every i moved... i will try find on official web
anyway, i believe its only has one map. so it must be just teleporting in that map.

lol how stupid i am... it say to pick hero from pillar... anyway, tested it and its only a normal teleporter.
you can use trigger unit enter region, action: move unit instantly to region. something like that. nothing special with that map

Probably custom mini-map images on some form of widget that create an overlay above the default mini-map.

The mini-map image is hard-coded as a image and so immutable during game. You can only place overlays on it but I imagine nothing stops you overlaying the entire map.

You can? I though you could only scale the overlay projection by altering camera bounds.

Select a Hero,walk few step on top and then on the right. There is a portal and a unit. Both of them can teleport you in other mini areas.
(They are not on the main map)

He is insist that the map has map in there, and told us to try the map then a prove. Maybe something like that. Well i have tried that map with different version and its only normal teleport, and i will try the map he gave

copy the terrain to a new map
save
open the map with a mpq editor
copy it's minimap file
set it as the minimap image for a unit
spawn that unit at (0,0)
