A map in a map?

Hi,I have played CoT Rpg 2 : Plains of Medea FoC and I have never seen this before.
By a portal,you can enter in another small map and in this map you have 4 directions. And each direction has a portail to another small map.
It's just amazing,how does it work????

You can test it in a few second. Pick hero and go few steps on the top and then on the right. You will show 2 units and a portal. Ty I will ask i WE help zone
