A little icon question!

Hello there, as you might already know, i started to make icons for the past weeks..

but here is my problem, i'm facing a concept question ..

I say keep it, but make it a different font. A cool font, try making the letters yourself and make them look like they are made out of metal (same texture as the wrench)

I say get rid of it. It looks really weird and takes away from awesomeness of the icon. Its good either way, though.

Get rid of it or a apply a bevel and emboss effect or give it a metallic appearance.

It's a legendary icon for mechanical abilities and tinker stuff, please don't remove it. BTW, it's unique: If this wasn't a good icon THW wouldn't have approved it.
Mr.Goblin, you rock. Don't let one dissatisfaction of an icon make you remove it!

I say get rid of it, or make it far less formal/stiff (you know, like it comics? Things like that if you want to keep it).

2 Things:
First: Get rif of the text.
Second: Since my mechanic is thought to be an caster unit make a
second version with a stronger glow with slighty differences for a
research icon. Its just an idea and you dont have to do so.
