like the overall atmosphere is the picture, tho you should make the cave a bit larger because the line from the trees and cave is at the same hight which makes it hard to fix your eyes on something.

But keep on practicing !

Height variation would do a lot. Also as MedseN said, you need to add height to your cave. It looks way too flat on the top, and it should always be slightly higher than the entrance.
 
Higher cave, have something in the distance aswell that is hard to see but that you can see just a bit, as it looks like this just stops right there and that is the end of the world.

Also you need to add some shrubs and other things around the root of your trees as it seems very empty and Blizzard trees doesn't look very good on their own without any shrubbery.

As Pyritie mentioned the fog should be adjusted to fit the sky or the other way around.

I don't think the ground itself needs any height variation, it looks good as it is. Also your use of doodads leeding up to the cave looks very good, the hanging corpse fits in perfectly, you've done a good job there.

Now to the cave itself the entrance looks great but the torches seems to be hanging out in thin air? That does not look very good, either make it more obvious if it is meant that they should be attached to the wall or else place them on the ground.

If you improve on what I and some of the others has pointed out here then your piece should end up great. Just keep working on it. +rep.

Anyways, keep up the good work on it, its a goodlooking terrian but it needs some work!
 
Cave needs more hill on top of it - either a lot of just some. Its too flat on top. Flat ground in front works rather well.

The game cliffs are always bad looking. Try to dress them up with rocks or rock chunks or something that looks like rubble at the base.

Fog has already been commented on.

The List:
  • Add hills.
  • Make fog blend with sky, or vice versa.
  • Needs better tile variation.
  • Kill the Gargoyle! (Remove it)
  • The background behind the cliff needs to have a background! The end of the world look doesn't cut it.
  • The height of the torches are uneven to each other. Make their height parallel to each other.

I think that just about cuts it!

  • The path that leads to the cave is kind of messy with doodads. Looks kind of random. But some of it looks good, like the bones.

Cool. But what ever you do, NEVER, rush yourself. Sure we may be anticipated to see your upcoming terrain, but rushing yourself will only bring disaster and add a lot of flaws to your work in the process. It's best if even the best terrainers don't rush themselves, otherwise they wouldn't be the best! :P
