3D printing Wc3/Wow models

So I went ahead and used the MDX importer and Wc3 viewer to import a .MDX to 3ds max and export an STL.

I then printed it :D

Probably using one of those cheap house-hold 3D printers that came on market in the last year.

Indeed it is just printed on a cheapy Makerbot $2000 machine, but it is still cool.

I believe you can get them to print out textured on a z-corp machine, but the last time I had access to it I wasn't able to get it to work, and I cant afford a $60,000 machine. lol
 
Is their any way you can up the finish quality? It looks very step-ladder like, but it is hard to tell without a proper scale.

You could try doing one of the more complex units. Tauren Chieftain for example, as he has a notoriously large number of triangles.

A structure could also be interesting. Specifically the Human Castle as that is walled in.
