*Cough cough* I was just checking out SCN's profile and found something which actually bothered me a bit (you know what).
The job of map reviewers is partially providing ready reviews for moderators to use them when there are too many pending maps and too short time to review them all, so don't get SCN wrong for using my and other map reviewers' comments to moderate maps. Additionally, what brought the terrain thing in the discussion? If you've seen Fight of Mages or Searing Conflict, well, those are surely not maps where I did my best terrains.
Getting back to the main topic, you said I applied my own tastes in reviewing maps, which is also true because it is impossible to have a reviewer/moderator which does not do so, no matter how professional or how he/she tries to hide them within facts. I do not call this "implying my tastes" or "giving low ratings", but simply "reviewing maps". Whenever I give a what-you-call "low" rating, I always have plenty of reasons to do so.
