  • Hey Neo I was thinking if we could work together and make a rpg in dark fantasy setting, I asked because im not the best at triggering but Im good at terraining, so what do you say a two man team if your interested pm me.

    Yes, I did. The task is to create a map from scratch within the 24hour timespan, so ofc you won't be able to make an epic orpg. Also the genres for this round are Capture the Flag and Misc, I have also explained what Misc includes. Your map must base on at least one of those genres. And you have to incorporate the keywords ritual and beach in your map.

    Re-read the features, there is somekind of variable that holds a trigger, it fires a designated trigger when the KB ends, and in that trigger, you can use some variables like KB3D_Unit or others specified in the description to refer to the Kb parameter
    Depends on many things. In an action RPG, you typically have a single unit and therefore should have enough immersion/attention to permanently control it. Spamming the same thing over and over again, especially if you need to click once for each attack, however, becomes tiresome. You would normally provide more flexibility or mix it up, so the player actually has to apply skill. In any way try to avoid control mechanics which are more bothersome than useful.
    It depends on what you're going for. In a real game, definitely click to attack, but in War3, nobody wants to hit A and then click for each hit. If you're willing to trigger for "right clicks target" and then triggering the order of the attack, then sure, click to attack would be better.
    that would depend entirely on preference, most people want to be lazy at -some point- with an auto attack, but I personally prefer an attack you must click (though I'll sometimes miss an auto attack when I'm clearing areas I can easily defeat)
    I usually prefer some sort of auto-attack. But it really depends on the game. I'm just used to autoattack in wc3.
    Unless you can make it so that left click or right click initiates an attack, auto attack is better. Hotkeys are just too difficult in my opinion.
    It would be best if you are to play the map I linked at your Best ARPG map thread which is Monter. Anyway, an attack that is activated through keys and buttons would be best I guess

    well because that your map can have the possibilities of 3 heroes for a single player then I would suggest just the normal attack.
    One hero with the ability to switch between different sets of skills or tactics. Three heroes would be too hectic if you're providing a lot of fast-paced action from enemies or hero skill effects.
    Sounds like a great idea indeed. Perhaps you can suggest that somewhere in an appropriate section of the forum? :) Maybe there are members that will give it a try. But it is somewhat far-fetched of course, since UIs are pretty time consuming to make. :/ Even so, I believe I saw there was a suggestion about a total remake/mod of war3 with Galaxy Editor. I'm sure your idea will be useful to them :D

    well, you must decide for yourself what projects you are working on. If AoS is an upgraded version of Wosa, maybe you should delete wosa from hive ;)

    Also, I have simply tested the most recently updated map of yours - wosa.
