Inside your warcraft 3 folder, there should be a UI folder, just CnP it there, if you don't have the UI folder, just make one.

Well, you should focus at one first. Go Java first, since it is somehow easier to learn, since C++ is a low level programming language, they're like "close to the hardware". High level ones are easier in development, like Java. So for me, either go Java/C#.
But hey, its all about personal preferences, eigh?

I haven't stop, since I still practice from time to time, i'm currently practicing web designing since I really find it interesting.
Nah I'm not really that great, actually if me and my friend decided to continue programming, I'll be the one constructing the application while he'll be the one solving the logic.
It simply because, C is more powerful than java, and java derives much of its syntax from C and C++, it just have fewer low-level facilities than either of them.
No I don't mean that you can't study java after you study C language, but on your post you making it mean that you'll study them both at the same time, which is a bad way of studying.
Hmmm, more than a year if I remember it correctly.
No, no, no, just focus on one, I prefer that you study C++ since it will take you to a more bright future than Java though Java have its own unique feature, and if you plan to learn C++ use Turbo C.

If so, go Java. Start with reading the free ebook Thinking in Java. Easy to pick up and very imformative. Just read a few chapters then check out Slick and run through the Spiegel tutorial if you want to know 2D game development
If you want 3D, check the jMonkeyEngine.

visual c is made to make gui for c because it cannot generate its own gui unlike java that you can use swing, jpanel, jframe etc.

I recommend net beans for java
and yeah visual c is nice, but actually you can write codes on any text editor like notepad and notepad++ then you'd point your compiler at the file you save to compile.
authors? buy? You can practive C++ by yourself and not spending anything, just look for tutorials around the net and some dedication and i'm pretty sure you'll learn easily.
