Quest Knight Introduction

This is my first finished cinematic. It is meant to be an intoduction to my new Quest Knight campaign, that tells the story of Hiathe Raisurrin, a humble footman who is completing quests like a hero with the use of his intellect.
Storry of the cinematic:
Hiathe Raisurrin, a famous footman who participated in various dengerous quests is returning home from a battle when he bumps into Jaina who is waiting for him with a quest. The old friends have some talk and then they go to Dalaran to see the King. The royal palace has some visitors at that time. Six heroes, Kael'thas Sunstrider, Illidan Stormrage, Arthas Menethil, (half corrupted with frostmourne), Lord Garithos, Knight Sven and knight Lucypher discussing some strange threat in the North. Mysteries begin to unfold about the return of Ner'zhul who commands the undead scourge from his throne in the Icecrown glacier. In the end, the character head into the Icecrown to slay him.

Enjoy and please ask me if you want to use any of my triggers in your map.

Thanks a lot for good feedback. It is true, that I didn't really show my best terraining skills. Very interesting note about the imported models. I didn't use any in this cinematic :). To the story: I wanted to make something like an altered scenario. Arthas becomes lich king after the footman Hiathe Raisurrin (comes from fantasy name generator :-D) steals his fame. I didn't want to create my own setting, because the original world is way better, than another vilage ganked by undead armies. The whole thing is meant to be something between epic warcraft 3 and comedy. This becomes very obvious in the first mision in howling fyord with Pudge shouting: "Did zombies go rocket kaboom playing with fireworks again?!" and stuff like that acompanied by dramatic psycho music and corpses hanging from giant ziggurats.

Oh yeah, you are right. I just needed some epic guys with swords, so I can call them knights. I thought it would be nice to combine DotA, warcraft3 TFT and WoW into one big mess with a footman in the role of a hero. The whole story was meant to be stupid and epic at the same time. Perhaps it is before the war against the burning legion began. It makes sence Arthas is not yet fully converted and is only waiting to face Kel'tuzard (or whatever it is spelled).

use BB codes for your description it will look much better, however what the hell is illidan doing here?.
You made errors in your description, here is your text but without errors:

I also found some lore errors: illidan isn't aware of the existence of the Lich king until TFT, while the storyline happens in RoC. And should be in prison in the barrow deeps now.
and the royal palace is in lordaeron city(the capital) and not in dalaran...

you also need to find REAL names for the knights(Lucipher and Sven are dota heroes...)

Thanks a lot for that extra work on my description (+rep). I will think about the story however this is really just some alternative scenario and I could get to describing the story of Ilidan later in the game. About the DotA heroes: I needed a reasonable explanation of how the hell a doomguard and a whatever blue thing got into aliance palace. Instead of having hard time coming up with a reason of my own I simply say they had -ap and are good. These are secondary characters anyway just so the dialogue scene looks cool. I am planing to add dubbing soon: OMFG! How did he just call me! lol

2/5 from me.

you need to add sky and fog. some particular part of the terrain was way too lacking as well.

you need to fix the description at this thread as well, it look soo plain and bad that it discourage people to d/l it.

Could you direct me to a tutorial? I understand how the stuff works, but in one scene, despite all the perfect settings the fog stops working. It is when they enter the castle gate and the camera is spinning around.

As to the fog, I can't help you there...I just use the "premade fog doodad" in UTM for maps that I make...
Anyway, the cinematic was good, terraining was pretty decent.....good use of blizzard models (even though I know everybody hates blizzard trees), but I think it was pretty well made. It gave it some sort of cartoonish feel to the cinematic.
Plus one thing I'd like to point out to most viewers is the decent use of your camera.

Some points to improvement:
Mainly on dialogue:
Footman says: "Nope, who is it?" Would be better said if "Nope, who is he?"

BTW: One thing I like about most blizzard models is that most of them have death animations which can be very useful in fight cinematics...Rocks, trees, houses, bridges...yes...I love destruction

WOuld give it a 4/5...but to make up for the injustice....5/5 instead.

Review - Quest Knight Introduction

A cinematic by Xargo

Camera :

The camera is ok however you should try to make the camera constantly move.

Terrain :

The terrain needs a lot of improvements, it's too flat, it's kinda empty, also the castle is too empty, almost nothing in it. You could also add more bushes in the forest.

Story :

The story is ok I guess, with a bit of random things to be "funny", but it's a bit too short. But the story itself is going to be better in the next part I guess.

Animations :

Not a lot of animations were used, use more animations in conversations.

Other :

There are no typos.

Hiveworkshop :

You have written an acceptable description.

Overall :

I guess this cinematic is ok, but I hope you'll take my advice and improve yourself with the next part.

Final Rating : 2/5
