doesnt rlly seem like a woodcutting axe, more like a battle axe. Its still a axe so i guess it dont matter

pretty generic...
the handle needs more definition and more shading and highlights and the axe in general needs more highlighs because they look like base colours to me.

While I haven't tested it in-game, it appears to be very well done. I can thinks of a couple of useful tasks for this icon.

Oh yes by all means, keep trying. Try looking at some tuts or axe icons like these. See if they will give you a good idea on what shading is required for these icons. Until then, best of luck.
