YouTube enjoys crashing itself.

Whenever I go onto YouTube and look up a video, I try to close it when finished with said video.
But then my browser freezes and I have to kill it.

Is anyone else getting this problem, and/or can anyone provide a solution?

Happens for me too, either it's the new flash player 11, or browser related, or it's youtube itself, i use Chrome what do you use?

Yeah I also use Chrome (dev - 18) and youtube videos keep crashing :/ sometimes along with the browser.

I just tried on Chrome - 16 and Firefox, both are working fine for me.

Edit: Was using Flash Player 11.

Youtube does not crash with internet explorer 9 with flashplayer 11 on a DX10 complient graphic card. It does however experience occasional button responsiveness problems (like unable to pause or play a movie until you scrole to another period in the film).

Daw too bad, the problem may be because of the dev version of chrome. And I can't revert to the beta/stable one because my account's version is higher and it won't be able to sync anything. I'M DOOMED.

Oh well, back to Firefox I guess.

The bug is sorta fixed on Chrome SXS (Canary), it doesn't crash the browser, only kills off flash player.

It does kill youtube videos with a white exclamation mark displayed on the video, but that only happens about 20% of the time.

Turn on HTML5 viewing for youtube. This will bypass flashplayer for most newer videos and so should not crash. You may need to install a few codex for it to work but it is worth it if it stops the crashes.
