Yeah, I'm looking for more death/black/satanic/thrash metal and I want to know you're top 3.

Right now, mine are :

1. Children Of Bodom - Melodic/ Death/Black Metal
2. DevilDriver - Satanic/Black Metal
3. Arch Enemy - Death Metal

Can't wait to know you're top 3 and discover some new great bands.

For this week :
BM :
Darskpace
Deathspell Omega
Grand Belial's Key
DM :
Nunslaughter
Archgoat
Bolt Thrower
Thrash :
Toxic Holocaust
Municipal Waste
Sodom
Other extreme :
Iperyt (bm/techno)

Sunn o))) (drone/doom)

That's for extreme stuff.

This is pretty hard... a top-3 :/

In random order:
  1. In Flames (Lunar Strain - Clayman)
  2. Hypocrisy
  3. Children of Bodom, Opeth, Dream Theater, Dark Tranquillity and others

Yeah, okay... I cheated... if you look really close, I've added more than 3 bands -.-
Still, I don't think I can create a top-3, it changes from day to day... sometimes I like Opeth more than CoB and sometimes the other way around.

Oh, well...

Children of Bodom isn't that great.

My top three metal bands would have to be:

• Pig Destroyer.
• All Shall Perish.
• Dimmu Borgir.

Pig Destroyer hands down is my favorite metal band, they are considered Thrash Metal, but I consider them eargasmic.

I've seen ASP live twice and rocked the pit both times. They're fucking amazing.

Third was hard to choose, because I've seen Dimmu Borgir when they toured with Behemoth, and both are amazing bands, but I just know more Dimmu songs then Behemoth songs. Also, I'd like to mention Arsonists Get All The Girls was tied with Hatebreed for a close fourth favorite metal band.

And to be honest, Toxic Holocaust isn't that great. I saw them live, with Dying Fetus, Chaimaira, Winds of Plague, and Hatebreed, and they were the opening act, I didn't really get into their music as much as the other great bands that followed.

COP is a great mix of many genres, thats wy so much people like it. There still better bands, but it nobody ask for the 3 best bands, it was ask for the peronal 3 best bands, which could be a big difference. If you would ask your sister(if you have one), she may even dont like metal at all.

What do you mean COP?

@Saken
Dunno, COB is great, like the others said, cuz it mixes lot of genres (MDM, Power Metal, etc etc). I guess Laiho is also kewl and best guitarist evar (imo).

Right now my favorite MDM bands would be like

-Kalmah
-COB
-In Flames or Dark Tranquility or Scarr Symetry or DevilDriver or Skyfire or Wintersun

I don't like BM much anymore, I guess it's just the style, voices are more like fucked to sound like a demon, instead of being aggresive voices (which is what sounds good imo(death metal)). Melodeath's also more catchy and shit, got better riffs.

Well I'm not a fan of melodeath, power metal, or anything that's just not totally intense most of the time. I hate slow metal, it just doesn't seem metal if it isn't always in your face and ears blaring loud and out of control. That's why Pig Destroyer is my top band. They are insane.

I have a top three, that's not quite extreme like the rest of yours.
This is quite strange since I don't know anyone who listens to anything "harder" than my choice of metal.

1) Vintersorg - (Vikingmetal)
2) Kalevala - (Folkmetal)
3) Rammstein - (Neue Deutsche Härte/Industrial)

I love clearly-sung vocals, not screaming; screaming's not my cup of tea.

Note about Vintersorg: The frontman, Andreas Hedlund, also leads Otyg, Borknagar, Havayoth, Fission and Waterclime. Vintersorg sounds awesome in Swedish, but their English albums aren't that rusty, either.

So another update...

1. Anaal Nathrakh
2. The Berzerker
3. Iperyt

That's probably my final list of most extreme bands (that also actually have VARIATION in their music, not just pounding stuff) I had kind of a thing to look for the most extreme screaming, growling music that i could find that would combine extreme vocals, extremely fast drums and everything but i think this list pretty much makes my points =p
