Wierd max HP increase bug (+9 instead of +10)

Hi,
I'm currently trying to create an own Max HP increase System by using the common bug involving giving the unit the ability Life Increase with negative value and then removing it again.

The strange thing is: when I do that with lvl 1 of the ability (-1 HP), there is no change at all. When using lvl 2 (-10) the unit gets +9 HP

Does anyone know where this could come from?
