Persoanlly I dislike the TToR, they have lame models and their ideas kinda...
However I respect them because they succeseeded to do what they wanted to do.
I also planned FoD to be a melee mod, however whne will finish the core, we will make the campaign.

Lucky for us, draenei now much about what happened before the First War, in what I call Massacre of the Draenei or... Fall of Draenor xD
Actually I just understood that that war can be called Fall of Draenor. Draenor means Exile's Refuge and Fall of the Refuge means that draenei failed to hide and live in peace since the orcs massacred them. Plus much of Draenor was corrupted, only making the name righter.

I only say that TToR was successfully made. Yes, you're right. Their models are kinda bad (No potrait for some models). However, it's last release was somewhere in 2005, and i would say that the quality was very good for that time. Now, it wasn't even compatible with 1.24, what a shame.

Oh yeah, fix your mistypings (Persoanlly (Personally), succeseeded (succeed , and whne (when))

Dig it! We got a social group(I see you already joined it) and there you can see the cool orcish building models we have!
However we still need more modellers and actually we need really good ones to make some of the models.

We want to make a preview map with races and models from our project, then release Beta - version only with melee races, and then the final version with campaign.

However with our lack of modellers it will take some time.

Alagremm, first do the coding, programming, balancing, etc... THEN ask for modelers. You realize aesthetics are one of the least important things there are... Seriously, I bet you don't even have a techtree yet. And you plan on releasing the mod in summer... How typical. You start all big and showy, get some people to help you and do nothing yourself. Seriously, prove us you can actually modify the Warcraft engine to make it use, for instance Draenei instead of, for instance, Night Elves. I recommend starting out by replacing "Human" with "Orc", for first. Prove us you can do it. Otherwise, this is very likely going to die even earlier than most projects.

Oh, and you have like what, five modelers? You ain't gonna get too much more than that. Why isn't it enough for you?

Yeah, I guess you're right. Actually Im going to work on the techtree tomorrow.
I'll work on Draenei, Arakkoa, Orc and Ogre techtree. Ogres will be the hardest to make.
Luckily we have a programmer, however I havent heard of him in a vile.

What do you think, maybe we should make more ensnaring abilties in FoD to compensate the lack of flying units?

I would however there a few things that make it impossible for us to do that:
-First ships were created by orcs who created them using human and then goblin technologies. No other race in Draenor had ships, except arakkoa and orcs who had small canoos to travel the rivers and fish. They didnt need them.
-Can you imagine a draenei or ogre ship? Orcs - ok, arakkoa - easily, but ogres or draenei...

Another thing is that Rise of the Horde was known for the great numbers of forces. Maybe we could twig a bit, to make 100 food limit a thing of the past? One of the bad parts of WCIII is the small number of your armies.

And yes, creating flying units for that timeline is really troublesome. Im actually thinking of making two flying units per race - observer and light attacking unit.

Juggernauts were created by ogres, under control of orcs, thanks to human and most of all goblin technology. Do you think ogres could create such advanced technology on their own? Plus it happened only in the Second War.

Yeah, I had the same idea for draenei however in my opinion they would have night elf-like caravels only with crystals and more yellow and white colored, with Terokkar wood. Plus there were no naval battles in Draenor... hm. Pehraps we could add this feature for melee game? But most likely not.

Troynl, I was thinking of the same, but some units need more food, so we will still need to make the limit bigger.

i think the juggernauts were created by ogres because ogres are strong enough to build them. the Ogre and Orc Technology befor the second war was just 0.
anyway enough about ships :wgrin: anything else to talk about?

I think you all should discuss about unit soundsets.
One could get crazy if their base is filled with different units.....
WITH SAME SOUNDSETS....

Okay. Lets begin by counting soundsets that you already have (Not including Orcs)...

Draenei: 2 Soundsets (I doubt whether that will fit or not). Can use soundsets from units of other races, though.

Ogre: 2 Soundsets, One-Headed and Two-Headed version (The One-Headed version. however, is a shortened version of the Two-Headed one. Speicificcally the "clumsy" head). Again, can use soundsets from other races.

Arakkoa: ...You can already tell about this race.

Draenei will mostly have phrases like:
"The Naaru have not forgotten us" and "Frown akai crystol" and so on, plus some stuff like "The orcs will pay for what they've did!"

Ogres will have the usual stuff - "What strategy mean? Me smash you!" Luckily only one hero will be two-headed.

Orcs... well orcs are orcs, almost the same sutff, like "Zug, zug!"

Arakkoa... well they'll have normal talk and Ravenspeech: "Squak!" "For Terokk!" all said with a squeky voice.

"The orcs will pay for what they've did!" is to aggresive for a draenei.
maby something like "we must defend this land" and "we though we were save here, but we where wrong". (dunno)

for Orcs maby:"For the Bleeding Ho... I mean For The Horde".
"I like my new skin collour".
"For Mordor... oeps wrong story"

Ogres: "Brother joint Orcs, but I never will"
