Over, I've reworked the Lordaeron lore, and I like how it turned out, now I've also involved Kalimdor
The Third war has yet to end in Lordaeron, with the Scourge Civic war still going on.
The Civic war started many years ago, after Archimonde was defeated. Archimonde has left the dreadlord Balnazzar and his two brothers in charge of the Scourge, to great dismay of the Lich Kings chosen champion, the corrupted prince Arthas.
However, after Archimondes defeat, Arthas demanded to be in control of the Scourge. The dreadlords denied. But they saw a new potential ally in Arthas enslaved Commander, the former High Elf, Sylvanas, whom Arthas had resurrected as a minion after slaying her. Sylvanas had, however, broke free of the Lich Kings control, and was just waiting for the right moment. So the dreadlords offered Arthas enslaved commander, Sylvanas, a place in their “new” Scourge. But Sylvanas denied, having her own ambitions of leadership.
The dreadlords tried, unsuccessfully, to kill Arthas, but he escaped. Sylvanas found him, and acted as if she was still under his control. She too attempted to kill Arthas, but was interrupted by Arthas other commander, the eternally loyal Kel’Thuzard.
However, Arthas master, and source of power, the Lich King was in great danger, with enemies marching towards the Frozen Throne. And due to this, Arthas travelled to Northrend, leaving Kel’Thuzard in charge of the Scourge.
Sylvanas and the dreadlords took advantage of Arthas absence, by seizing control of even more undead. Having her own ambitions, Sylvanas formed her own faction, the Forsaken, and begun fighting the dreadlords.
She defeated the forces of Varimathras, and cornered him, which made him offer her his powers and knowledge about his brothers. Sylvanas accepted his offer, and marched onto the other dreadlord brothers, Detheroc, fortress.
It appeared that Detheroc had enslaved the surviving humans of Lordaeron, but he was defeated.
With Detheroc slain, the humans regained control of themselves, and joined Sylvanas, who seemed the most human of the combatants.
With her demonic and human allies bolstering her own undead troops, she defeated Balnazzar, took control of the Capital City, and backstabbed her human allies.
However, as Sylvanas conquered the Capital City of Lordaeron, Arthas successfully defended the Frozen Throne, and merged with the Lich King, increasing their powers to unbelievable heights.
But, as the Lich King gained his powers, the alliance which successfully defended Mount Hyjal about a year ago, formed yet again, and decided to strike against the Lich King.
Being busy fending off this assault, the Lich King sent his commander, Anub’Arak, to help Kel’Thuzard in his fight, and thereby regaining the control of the renegade undead.
But while Arthas did this, Sylvanas begun a relentless assault on the Scourge in Lordaeron, knowing that if she didn’t defeat those forces, she might soon be fighting a war on two fronts.
The assault did, however, fail, with Anub’Arak coming to the rescue of Kel’Thuzard, bringing hordes of Crypt Fiends and Lords with him.
While Sylvanas managed to fight Kel’Thuzard and Anub’Arak, even managed to hold her ground for some time, but was slowly getting pushed back; the demon lord Kil’Jaeden offered her an alliance. However, Sylvanas declined and fought on, thinking that she wouldn’t need his help.
It wasn’t before some weeks has passed she realized that she was fighting a losing war.
He also told her that Varimathras knew how to, and knew of Kil’Jaedens plan. Being too pressed to discard Varimathras due to his treachery, she ordered Varimathras to summon the Legion. However, Varimathras was unable to summon the Legion from the Undercity; it had to be done in the magical city of Dalaran.
Seeing this as her only chance, Sylvanas ordered a retreat to Dalaran, and they begun summoning the Legion. Kel’Thuzard detected the very same ritual he had performed a while ago, and the Scourge made an all-out attack on the Dalaran ruins, in an attempt to stop what might give the Forsaken the upper hand yet again.
However, Varimathras succeeded in summoning Kil’Jaeden, who expanded the portal, thereby letting demons into the world of Azeroth yet again. When this was done, the Scourge commanders fled, knowing that they would be slain if they stayed.
With the Legions help, the Scourge was pushed back. But the Scourge wasn’t defeated, and soon the war waged again, seeming unending since both factions seems to be equally strong.
As the war raged on, Sylvanas and Kil'Jaeden came to control western Lordaeron, while the Scourge commanders took/established strongholds within the Eastern Part.
Sylvanas commands her Forsaken troops from Undercity, primary at war with Kel’Thuzard, while Varimathras serves as the ambassador and observer of the Burning Legion.
Kil’Jaeden has rebuilt Dalaran in the Legions twisted image, and had sent his right hand, Mephistroth, Lord of the Dreadlords, along with Lord of the Pit Lords, Azgalor, to conquer the weakened Khaz Modan and Azeroth, in which they succeeded.
So now Mephistroth rules the defiled lands of Azeroth from the cursed tower of Karazhan, attempting to retake Outland and kill Illidan.
Meanwhile, Azgalor has taken residence in Grim Batol, ruling the tainted lands of Khaz Modan, fighting off dragons and dwarves, both wishing to retake what was once a place of inhabitation for them.
In the Plaguelands, Kel’Thuzard rules, commanding the undead form the undead citadel of Strathholme, waging war with Sylvanas.
However, while Kil’Jaeden and Sylvanas assaulted the eastern Lordaeron, Anub’Arak made Stromgarde a new fortress of the Scourge, attacking the twisted Legion fortress, Dalaran.
But the master of the Scourge gained the upper hand in his fight against the Alliance, and decided to push the living fighters back to Kalimdor, and he used his living followers to plant mistrust in the living factions, all of which succeeded in splitting the Alliance.
Now, each faction of the former alliance has to fight for themselves. While the Jaina tries to reform the Alliance, the orcs has begun mistrusting the human and elves, and the elves, whose fighting spirit were shattered from the start, now tries to hide from the struggle, desperately trying to heal the broken world tree.
While thousands falls on both sides in Lordaeron, the war goes on, due to the necromantic powers of the Scourge, and the endless hordes of demons coming from the portals.
However, while this conflict wages, Mephistroth is assaulting the shattered Outland, fighting both the Illidari, and the strange alliance composed of Draenei, Night Elves, Dwarves, Humans, High Elves and Gnomes… Neither faction is able to hold any conquered peace of land for very long.
Hope you liked this version... And I don't think this seems like there's that many demons, but please tell me if it seems like that in this version of it
