Thank you very much :)
But I'd like to know, what is it that've ravaged the lower Eastern Kingdoms? Have the trolls proved more lethal than yet, or has the Legion arrived yet again?
Also, I take that Alterac Mountains and Gilneas has been taken, else it could be some interesting locations, both lore- and gamewise :)

The only remaining humans settlements, aside from Theramore, are miserable little 'remenant' settlements.

The forsaken have brought the legion into loaderon, so basically it is now the battleground for the legion-scourge conflict.

if you could write some lore for that...

tbh, i dont know much of this other stuff, i've only played the games, not wow or read the books.

The gurubashi trolls were mentioned in Warcraft 1 or 2 I think... Can't remember, but I take that the Amani trolls (The orcs allies during the second war) has been slaughtered by the undead/legion?

Okay... I've made some lore which would clean up the story of pretty much all of the Eastern Kingdoms, as well as clarifying a little of whats going on in Outland.

The Third war has yet to end in Lordaeron, with the Scourge Civic war still going on.
The Civic war started many years ago, after Archimonde was defeated. Archimonde has left the dreadlord Balnazzar and his two brothers in charge of the Scourge, to great dismay of the Lich Kings chosen champion, the corrupted prince Arthas.
However, after Archimondes defeat, Arthas demanded to be in control of the Scourge. The dreadlords denied. But they saw a new potential ally in Arthas enslaved Commander, the former High Elf, Sylvanas, whom Arthas had resurrected as a minion after slaying her. Sylvanas had, however, broke free of the Lich Kings control, and was just waiting for the right moment. So the dreadlords offered Arthas enslaved commander, Sylvanas, a place in their “new” Scourge. But Sylvanas denied, having her own ambitions of leadership.
The dreadlords tried, unsuccessfully, to kill Arthas, but he escaped. Sylvanas found him, and acted as if she was still under his control. She too attempted to kill Arthas, but was interrupted by Arthas other commander, the eternally loyal Kel’Thuzard.
However, Arthas master, and source of power, the Lich King was in great danger, with enemies marching towards the Frozen Throne. And due to this, Arthas travelled to Northrend, leaving Kel’Thuzard in charge of the Scourge.
Sylvanas and the dreadlords took advantage of Arthas absence, by seizing control of even more undead. Having her own ambitions, Sylvanas formed her own faction, the Forsaken, and begun fighting the dreadlords.
She defeated the forces of Varimathras, and cornered him, which made him offer her his powers and knowledge about his brothers. Sylvanas accepted his offer, and marched onto the other dreadlord brothers, Detheroc, fortress.
It appeared that Detheroc had enslaved the surviving humans of Lordaeron, but he was defeated.
With Detheroc slain, the humans regained control of themselves, and joined Sylvanas, who seemed the most human of the combatants.
With her demonic and human allies bolstering her own undead troops, she defeated Balnazzar, took control of the Capital City, and backstabbed her human allies.

However, as Sylvanas conquered the Capital City of Lordaeron, Arthas successfully defended the Frozen Throne, and merged with the Lich King, increasing their powers to unbelievable heights. Arthas used his new powers to truly conquer Northrend, and begun assaulting Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms.

But while Arthas did this, Sylvanas begun a relentless assault on the Scourge in Lordaeron, knowing that if she didn’t defeat those forces, she would soon be fighting a war on two fronts.
The assault did, however, fail, with Anub’Arak coming to the rescue of Kel’Thuzard, bringing hordes of Crypt Fiends and Lords with him.
While Sylvanas managed to fight Kel’Thuzard and Anub’Arak, even getting the upper hand, the demon lord Kil’Jaeden offered her an alliance. However, Sylvanas declined and fought on, thinking that she wouldn’t need his help. But how wrong she was. Shortly after Kil’Jaedens offer, Arthas and a horde of undead landed on the shores of the southern Silverpine Forest, making Sylvanas fight on two fronts.
Sylvanas tried to meet them head-on, but failed in a matter of days. She contacted Kil’Jaeden, and told him that she accepted his offer, and was told that he wouldn’t help her, unless he was summoned. He also told her that Varimathras knew how to, and knew of Kil’Jaedens plan. Being too pressed to discard Varimathras due to his treachery, she ordered Varimathras to summon the Legion. However, Varimathras was unable to summon the Legion from the Undercity; it had to be done in Dalaran.
Seeing this as hew only chance, Sylvanas ordered an all-out retreat to Dalaran, and they begun summoning the Legion. Kel’Thuzard detected the very same ritual he had performed a while ago, and the Scourge made an all-out attack on the Dalaran ruins, in an attempt to stop what might give the Forsaken the upper hand yet again.
However, Varimathras succeeded in summoning Kil’Jaeden, who expanded the portal, thereby letting hordes of demons into the world of Azeroth yet again. When this was done, Arthas and his commanders fled, knowing that they would be slain if they stayed.
With the Legions help, the Scourge was pushed back. But the Scourge wasn’t defeated, and soon the war waged again, seeming unending since both factions seems to be equally strong.
And as the war waged on, Sylvanas and Kil’Jaeden controls the western Lordaeron, with Arthas and his commanders controlling the western and southern part.

Sylvanas commander her Forsaken troops from Undercity, primary at war with Kel’Thuzard, while Varimathras serves as the ambassador and observer of the Burning Legion.
Kil’Jaeden has rebuilt Dalaran in the Legions twisted image, and had sent his right hand, Mephistroth, Lord of the Dreadlords, along with Lord of the Pit Lords, Azgalor, to conquer the weakened Khaz Modan and Azeroth, in which they succeeded.
So now Mephistroth rules the defiled lands of Azeroth from the cursed tower of Karazhan, attempting to retake Outland and kill Illidan.
Meanwhile, Azgalor has taken residence in Grim Batol, ruling the tainted lands of Khaz Modan, assaulting the southern Lordaeron.

In the Plaguelands, Kel’Thuzard rules, commanding the undead form the undead citadel of Strathholme, waging war with Sylvanas.
However, both the Legion and the Scourge fights a two-fronted war, while Kil’Jaeden and Sylvanas assaulted the eastern Lordaeron, Anub’Arak made Stromgarde a new fortress of the Scourge, fighting Azgalor, and occasionally the twisted Dalaran.
But the master of the Scourge, the Lich King, invaded Gilneas, making it a plagued land, with all life nearly extinct. And now, the Lich King uses the remains of the Gilnean defenders in his fights against Dalaran.

While thousands falls on both sides, the war goes on, due to the necromantic powers of the Scourge, and the endless hordes of demons coming from the portals.
However, while this conflict wages, Mephistroth is assaulting the shattered Outland, fighting both the Illidari, and the strange alliance composed of Draenei, Night Elves, Dwarves, Humans, High Elves and Gnomes… Neither faction is able to hold any conquered peace of land for very long.

Again, I hope you liked it :)

Very good, If you care to throw it all in a notepad, I'll take it in for 'editing' (no changes plot wise)

Its very good, Very, very good.

However, the spell used to summon the demons into this world is limited, and until the demons find a new source of power, it is a constant strain on the demons, weakening them... They suffer without a strong source of magic to feed upon, and the more demons that enter, the weaker all the others get.

Also, Who is leading the attack against Kalimdor?

I'll throw all of it into a word document and send it to you if you'd like?

And I suppose that the demons could feed on the Scourge troops? After all, they're reanimated corpses, held together by necromantic energy, which the demons might be able to gather and feed upon? Else, Karazhan or Grim Batol could be used as a "supply", since both of them contains fel energy. Dalaran could also contain some energy, which the demons could feed upon too :)

About the Kalimdor part, I'll wait till there's more information about the state of Kalimdor, since it'd be different "styles" of war depending on what kinda commander it was.
A Death Knight would probably just rush forward, trying to slaughter everything in his way, while paying little mind to his troops.
I would imagine that a Lich would be a little more careful, knowing the life of the necromancers, and use more magic to wreck havoc among its enemies.
A Crypt Lord might use underground attacks and passages, and tactics like burrowing, and falling a little back, and then make a two-front attack on the enemy.

As I've understood, the demons can just enter the portal, without that much trouble, its when they're there they consume magic?
And if this was true, they'd have the require magic, since their troops probably dies as fast as they get reinforced?

Not Really, if it is a portal they can just 'enter' (which if it is the case, is too dangerous)
then there would be millions pouring out a day... and most certainly that many don't die. We either need to rethink the portal, or they need alot more mana.

I think that these demons need large amounts of energy not only to maintain their ability to enter, but also their ability to maintain in azeroth, maybe because of a spell arthas is casting, simply because of the fact that if uncontrolled, it makes ne sense that they couldent take over azeroth.

But i'm deffo open to all solutions.

Hmm... We could say that they used the remaining power of the Sunwell? I think it would be pretty easy to edit the lore so it could fit in?

The lore could be edited so the Sunwell was fueling their powers? Or we could just say that there's enough magic in Dalaran to do that? One of those seems the most logical to me.

This is how I thought the story went (note: I'm not a lore-master...):
Because the demons are not from the same realm as Azeroth, they require immense amounts of energy and magical power to sustain the summoning portals that allow them to get into Azeroth. that is why, in the novel Wrath of the Ancients, it took so many Night Elves to summon the first demons. Then, while The Burning Legion is in Azeroth, they feed on more magic to become stronger. Also, they need magic like humans need water... without it they can't survive.

So I think that the demonic campaign should be about the demons trying to establish portals to get more of their minions in, and their conquest for magical resources and destruction. Also, the campaign could take place in Outlands...
  • Azeroth - is about the Burning Legion's conquest to obliterate and enslave everything.
  • Outlands - defending against Illidan's forces and hunting Illidan down.

If you grab some modelers and shit, and still need, i'd be back as a data editor, so long as TWIF is willing to compromise at times(;D). I am currently experimenting with actors and the like, as well as with hosting ops. I hope to help in some way, but you would do well to have a second data editor who I can transfer files between to rework and such. I hope to contribute greatly if the answer is yes, but would not be surprised if the answer is no, as I did abandon the project for lack of anything being done, and jumping on the "bandwagon" may seem like I am in it for the ride. Regardless, I hope to continue to contribute, and work on my Trio project. I hope to continue this work for the time being.

P.S. turminator, I need your sc2 code and name.

Of course I'll take you, and if be fine compromising, but not in a way that goes against the teams goals, and the only reason you should wish to jon is that you agree to the teams goals and initiative. We are looking not only for skilled people, but people with initiative and compatible Charachter. Without those elements, we can never be a properly functioning team. We all need to hold up our end of the responsibility, but more importantly, we need to be prepared to forgive people when they cant.

This is a shiteload of work, and its not easy.

Okay, I just wrote a long post explaining this, but it got deleted, so I'll just explain it shortly.

Once, the magic energies of Azeroth was contained in a single well, called the Well of Eternity. This well was blown up ten thousand years ago, releasing the magic energies of Azeroth into the "air".
However, Illidan has taken some water from the Well before it exploded, and had made a new Well of Eternity. However, the Night Elves planted the World Tree upon this, in order to protect it. This new well was what the Legion tried to obtain during Warcraft 3.

But as I said, the magic energies of Azeroth flows in the air. Therefore, the demons should be able to "feed" upon the air, making it easier to maintain a demonic force.
However, while the magic in the air thing helps casting spells in general, opening a portal to the Nether is still an incredible hard task.
But after the portal has been made, it should be easy enough to maintain, due to demons able to reinforce it with their experience.

And with the War of the Ancients thing. I think that experience helps opening portals like that immensely. Remember that Kel'Thuzard wanted the Book of Medivh, who was possesed by Sargares? It was because Medivh had an immense experience on this point, due to his heritage (The Order of Tirisfal) and his possesion.
Remember that Varimathras has experience on this point, making the opening of the portal much easier, especially if demon casters helps maintaining the portal, or expanding it.

But I agree, at sometime they'll need new sources of energy, but as it stands, I think that the necromantic energy the Scourge is made of, along with the "magic in the air" will be enough.

I read the lore booklet that came with the battlechest, i remember that stuff.

The whole point is that this doesent work for us.
we need to chage/edit the lore, for the very reasons you outlined. If not, there is no way i am going to include the demons, and people want them, so it simply has to be done. I'll write that part of the lore myself. if you dont want to.

Over, I've reworked the Lordaeron lore, and I like how it turned out, now I've also involved Kalimdor :)

But, as the Lich King gained his powers, the alliance which successfully defended Mount Hyjal about a year ago, formed yet again, and decided to strike against the Lich King.
Being busy fending off this assault, the Lich King sent his commander, Anub’Arak, to help Kel’Thuzard in his fight, and thereby regaining the control of the renegade undead.

But while Arthas did this, Sylvanas begun a relentless assault on the Scourge in Lordaeron, knowing that if she didn’t defeat those forces, she might soon be fighting a war on two fronts.
The assault did, however, fail, with Anub’Arak coming to the rescue of Kel’Thuzard, bringing hordes of Crypt Fiends and Lords with him.
While Sylvanas managed to fight Kel’Thuzard and Anub’Arak, even managed to hold her ground for some time, but was slowly getting pushed back; the demon lord Kil’Jaeden offered her an alliance. However, Sylvanas declined and fought on, thinking that she wouldn’t need his help.
It wasn’t before some weeks has passed she realized that she was fighting a losing war.
He also told her that Varimathras knew how to, and knew of Kil’Jaedens plan. Being too pressed to discard Varimathras due to his treachery, she ordered Varimathras to summon the Legion. However, Varimathras was unable to summon the Legion from the Undercity; it had to be done in the magical city of Dalaran.

With the Legions help, the Scourge was pushed back. But the Scourge wasn’t defeated, and soon the war waged again, seeming unending since both factions seems to be equally strong.
As the war raged on, Sylvanas and Kil'Jaeden came to control western Lordaeron, while the Scourge commanders took/established strongholds within the Eastern Part.

Sylvanas commands her Forsaken troops from Undercity, primary at war with Kel’Thuzard, while Varimathras serves as the ambassador and observer of the Burning Legion.
Meanwhile, Azgalor has taken residence in Grim Batol, ruling the tainted lands of Khaz Modan, fighting off dragons and dwarves, both wishing to retake what was once a place of inhabitation for them.

In the Plaguelands, Kel’Thuzard rules, commanding the undead form the undead citadel of Strathholme, waging war with Sylvanas.
However, while Kil’Jaeden and Sylvanas assaulted the eastern Lordaeron, Anub’Arak made Stromgarde a new fortress of the Scourge, attacking the twisted Legion fortress, Dalaran.

But the master of the Scourge gained the upper hand in his fight against the Alliance, and decided to push the living fighters back to Kalimdor, and he used his living followers to plant mistrust in the living factions, all of which succeeded in splitting the Alliance.
Now, each faction of the former alliance has to fight for themselves. While the Jaina tries to reform the Alliance, the orcs has begun mistrusting the human and elves, and the elves, whose fighting spirit were shattered from the start, now tries to hide from the struggle, desperately trying to heal the broken world tree.

While thousands falls on both sides in Lordaeron, the war goes on, due to the necromantic powers of the Scourge, and the endless hordes of demons coming from the portals.

Hope you liked this version... And I don't think this seems like there's that many demons, but please tell me if it seems like that in this version of it :)

Okay, but I've got a cool idea for a map in some future campaign... It could be the last mission in a dwarven campaign preferrably.
Breaking down the Dam keeping the Wetlands from getting floaded, thereby ruining Grim Barol :p

PLEASE make Brann the hero of the campaign, he should be more than just a supporting character :)

And there doesn't have to be a new Dwarven tech tree, the human one could just be changed slightly, like the blood elf.

"And as the war waged on, Sylvanas and Kil’Jaeden controls the western Lordaeron, with the Scourge commanders controlling the western part."

Fix that. Other than that, it is ok :)

Actually you missed another error

"And as the war waged on, Sylvanas and Kil’Jaeden controls the western Lordaeron, with the Scourge commanders controlling the western part."

It should be control, not controls to be grammatically correct.

Overall it'd probably work better to be worded this way anyways:

"As the war raged on, Sylvanas and Kil'Jaeden came to control western Lordaeron (or the West part of Lordaeron, whatever works for you), while the Scourge commanders took/established strongholds within the Eastern Part."

Switch Western and Eastern as appropriate to the story too (just noticed a grammar fault, didn't read the whole thing).

Thanks for finding errors like that, I don't notice hem very often tbh.

But yeah... Brann is only mentioned when you click Muradin during the human campaign some times, and mentions him as his youngest brother, but unless you plan on letting Muradin survive like in WoW, Brann would be the most logical one to take leadership of the dwarves.

I've never heard of brann in war3 before, so probably not.

"My older brother Magni is king of the dwarves...
My younger brother Brann is a renowned explorer.
If I didn't kick so much ass, I'd feel a tad awkward!"
-Muradin Bronzebeard

Brann is pretty must just a sole explorer, I can't see him as a leader or commander. I suggest you take either a new character or Magni instead.

But... Magni is the king, he should die! But tbh I just like Brann, due to the lore and his role in WoW :p

But I see your point, but I can't make myself replacing someone with Brann, he's so awesome :D

Okay, but I've got no idea of a replacement tbh, I can't really recall any dwarven name from Wc3 which isn't dead or just some random hero.

But I take that Baine (I think that's his name, not sure) is still fine as leader of the tauren?

Perhaps that could be the story for the dwarves then... Their kingdoms are ruined and they are without a leader and no one willing to take the throne... Make the dwarf storyline about them trying to survive the destruction of Azeroth and trying to restore order within their political system.

And tbh, that leader could just as well be Brann as anyone else <.< Given that he's the hair to the throne, I'd say he's a fine candidate. (This is for the ones in Khaz Modan)
Another thing which speaks for him is the state the dwarves are in; he's an explorer, which means that he's good at finding around, getting quickly from place to place, and he should be able to lead the remaining dwarves to hit-and-run attacks, while knowing where the enemy troops is, and maybe ambush some demons.

PWH, honestly, Brann is not built for a leader. >___>
He's an EXPLORER, not a fighter, or a commander. He goes around places, talks to people and digs stuff out. He doesn't fight anything. Seriously, just invent a new character and let him take the lead. You really think they'd let Brann command the forces and not, say, Thordin Stoneforge, captain of the Ironforge guard, or Aggronor Sharpshot, commander of the dwarves' rifleman corps?
