Good luck at work (if I had knowledge of modeling, I help). And how realized your idea, I liked.

It may be tricky converting .wmo's to .mdx.

Most of the Human buildings can be found in Old Hillsbrad or Stratholme from CoT.

Undead you may have issues, there are only:

Necropolis
Ziggurat
I think I saw a Temple of the Damned once
Slaughterhouse

And that's really it. Crypts exist but they don't look like the ones in the Undead building, they look like the doodads.

For orcs you can find:

Fortresses
Scout/Archer Tower
Spirit Tower or whatever it's called
Blacksmith for a War Mill I guess.
Altar of Storms, sorta.

For Night elves:

Ancients of
Protector
Lore
War

That's really it, too.

Good luck with this. The buildings will require some work...

Indeed, already fixing his footman, it took me 6 hours. A building would take days since each requires new Birth, Stand Work and Death Animations.

Anyways, here's the footman finished and fixed for Sc2.

First Diffuse map only:

Now only the Normal Map:

Diffuse + Normal Map + Specular Map + Lighting:

Patrolling Westfall:

And the best part: Split Body Animations. Walk Animation can be merged with all attacks, blocks and dances:

Total Model size within a map is about 500Kb. All the original textures were rebaked and unified to one. The original Unwrap was also edited and some tweaks to the animations + Sc2 Selection Objects, Attachment Points and Colission Objects.

The footman looks really nice. The cool part about it is that you added normals maps wish I was wondering why I never seen on converted wow models.

and they are easy to make, all you need is increase contrast, desaturate the image. make the areas which should bump but are dark, lighter and then apply the nvidia normal map filter. After that some smart blur to reduce noisyness and it's done. obviously making a high poly model and baking from it gives better results, but these are quite good just the way they are.

The Specular map is a bit more work but still basic photoshop.

Well when I saw this guy I said "More Work?!" haha just kidding. Here's the peasant with diffuse, normal and specular maps:

I'm planning to use Wc3 Anims with some extra edits to make them more fluid.

This time I didn't use WoW animations but wc3 animations with edits and extra bones for fingers and shoulders.

There are some weird lines appearing but I can't find the reason. It appears to be shadows.

Until now both the Footman and the peasant take about 1.18mb within a mod file. I expect all human units to take about 15Mb. There should be 8 mod files in total. Each race will have two: one mod file for building, one for units. Would be nice to get them published to Battle.net so anyone can use the models as an standard.
