Wc4_Map_Progress.png

ok, this is what i've done so far, had to work for an exam yesterday, thats why i only had time to make the face of kil'jaeden. i plan to remake the map, will make a map Bg and will make the map lines black/blue like old maps, anyway, i will try to.

i Wanted to make concept art for every Symbol. (like One for alliance, one for horde, bla bla,) You know, if u played wow, in Human city, there is blue flag with lion on it, maybe we could make this for all races. The symbol.

Anyway, i wanted to make a demonic hand for demons but its ended that i made it to complicate to be a symbol and made an altar with it.

i will maybe make symbols but here is a concept art for a Demonic altar of hero.

attachment.php

what u think?

I think the idea is pretty good only the concept bathers me a little, cause, it it is an altar, the demons problably ... you know fall off :/

so I quickly drew up this in a few minutes, just to get the same idea as you did :

we doing models for Wc but with Sc2 editor if its what u mean, and i dont want to speak for The world is flat, but if u want to enter this Wc4 project, u are more than welcom lol, i've seen ur model in Art section. so freaking awesome. just ask him and make him see what u did.

And, the site u made, wc4scd.tk, is rly nice, just wanted to point out the lil thinks i would change, first, i would take the first image with the lil fall, no need for 2 images and u know the lil text on the right, that changes (it talks about the news and the 10k view) maybe make it change just a bit slower and when it changes, the black rectangle is on the title of the ''Around the network'', it looks a bit weird. anyway, was just pointing the lil thing i found bad. but rly, the rest is awesome.

Oh and, Wips

the map. going to add another head of another hero.

and

the symbols.

didnt made the forsaken symbol, but what u think? i've pretty much took the current one of alliance and horde, and i've tough of some spinning thing for Demons or outlan cuz Outland: Races combining their force to make 1 unique race and Demons : using portals (spining things always look like portal)
for the night elves, i've tough of a leaf cuz they are pretty much nature lovers :p

kola, love the art. but we need 2 for the humans. the L can be for the remenants, but the Theramorian Empire needs one.

rober, we are making a massive pile fo wc models for this mod. as Kola said if you want to join, apply.

kola, (again) i like the outland/demons. the swastika is somthing that it could be modeled afer. with a rounded and spiny shape like yours.

The nelfs need some kind of symbol to go with that aswell. the leaf is a bit simple.

for the map, the red font/text should be ditched in favor of the newer one (on moddb) good map, but the demons grin is a it off. otherwise good.

Guys, do we want to bring walls back?
do we want to bring sea unit back for multiplayer?

Maybe you could use the satanistic pentagram as symbol for the demons?

I think that would be a bad idea, since the mod is intended to be a fictional work like WC3. Puting pentagrams, hexagrams and septagrams as decorative symbols in the walls or floor of demonic temples should be ok, but using them as the flag of the demons... well, it would be like using the XVIth century spanish navy flag for Theramore.

Nothing regarding this project (I've been occupied lately searching for a job), but if you ask me to do anything, I'll have it as soon as humanly possible.
Btw, at the start of WC4's campaign what is the extent of the forsaken's territory? I was thinking about creating some background about the war for conquest of the forsaken. (Remember that at the end of WC3, Sylvannas have control just over Lordaeron and part of the Trisfal Glades and the Plagelands).

Thanks real, for the hard work.

Thark, its patchy, the plauglands and loaderon are contested between 3 factions, arthas, the remants, and the forsaken. everoyne runs from the scourge... But the forsaken are trying to capture these guys because they arent feeling arthases power yet.

we shoud do some maps. ya.

Thark thats a good task for you.

BTW: Jaina has arthas' children by now, guys.

Will it be a significant part of the plot? If not you should drop it, I don't like it at all. I'd improve it, but my join-the-team submission would be about Illidan and Outland

Lol, bit too cliched no? The whole pregnant before daddy goes evil jip.
Well your the writers, but I'm just telling you it isn't very unique/fresh.

Were still missing some of the team on the forum, Tharkas your one of them.

Good points, Turminator8 is managing the site from now on, I'm sure he'll look into it and I'll give him a nudge anyway.

I've been thinking about the matter.
Jaina and Arthas were friends when they were young, but Jaina went to Dalaran to study magic and wizardry while Arthas entered the order of the Silver hand, but it can be assumed that they used to spend time together before that and that maybe they shared an even deeper relationship. The time that Jaina and Arthas spend together in the first human campaign is, at most, one month. If we assume that the child is conceived in that time and that the fetus doesn't start to develop in size until the third month of pregnancy, Jaina would start to show external signs of her state between the ending chapters of the orc campaign and the events of Rexxar's campaign, but still would be able to fight as she does.
Remember that WarCraft is set on a fantastic but still medieval world, and carrying the bastard son of the former heir to the crown of Lordaeron is something that you would want to keep in secret. Also, we can assume that Jaina still kept, at least, magical contact with Dalaran, so she would be aware of the transformation of Arthas.
If that son were to be, trough being a bastard son, he would be the only heir to the House of Menethil. Of course, he would be heir to the title of Grand Admiral of Kul'Tiras and he would have the same right as his grandfather to proclaim himself as leader of Theramore in place of his mother.

I think we should make WC4 a bit more WC2-ish. I mean:
Not adding any maintenance system like in WC3.
Reducing the impact of heroes in gameplay. If it were in my hands, I would make heroes like special versions of common units, like in WC2, SC and SC2.
Maybe, we could adapt the rank system for terran and protoss units of SC2 into a leveling system like in C&C. Every time a unit kills a certain number of enemies, it increases its level, increasing his attributes and maybe also the power and ocasionally the number of his spells. For example, a priest that has 175 life, 190 mana, 10 attack and 0 armor with Heal, Dispel Magic and Inner Fire would have increased his life, mana, attack, armor and one random spell every level by a little (+1 attack, +0.2 armor, +10 life and +15 mana, for example), and after level 5 or 6 he would gain the Resurrection ability, that resurrects a dead allied organic unit with a cost of 150-200 mana and has a 2-3 minutes cooldown.

Edit: Also, since it would be necessary for the unit to kill the enemy by itself, it would be harder to level up a single unit, and the units that would increase their level easier would be the combat ones, wich are more exposed to being killed.

Heir to the position of Grand Admiral of Kul Tiras?

Also, I think heroes are quite an interesting thing in WC III and I'm pretty sure they'll play a big role in this mod, since people like Illidan and Jaina are featured. I think the story was more hero-orientated in WC III with Arthas and such, hence why they made it like that? Not sure of this.

Yeah, Kul Tiras is a island nation similar to Theramore that is leaded by no king but by the Grand Admiral of Kul Tiras, a title that would be the same as "King of Kul Tiras". The title is transfered from a father to the firstborn son, like in a monarchy.

And by "heroes" I mean the WC3 level system. There were also featuring heroes in Warcraft 1 and 2 and in Starcraft, and sure there will be in Starcraft II, but they didn't level up aside from the upgrades applied also to the common units.
Also I would love to increase the medieval feeling in WC4 that I think is partially lost in WC3, and I've never heard of a medieval general doing micromanagement.

Edit: Also, as you said, WC3 is more hero-orientated, but in the campaign the ones that really win or lose the battles are the normal units, while in the melee gaming heroes change completely the gameplay.

What I actually meant was that Proudmoore had another son, one died in the Second War and one survived, I believe.

Ah, of course, Daelin had two sons as I wrote before. Derek, who died in the second war, and Tandred, who is the current Grand Admiral. But it's still not sure if Kul Tiras is still standing and Tandred is still living in WC4, since Kul Tiras would be a territory in the interests of both the forsaken and the plage.
Also Daelin is the father of Finnall Goldensword, a half-elf that leads a group of survivors. Maybe she could be a hero of the remmnants.

those chars were made in a DEV chat by me and Reaper51. te bottom two are Jainas children.

the hero system is as follows:

heroes are the same except: each of your 3 basic ability slots have 2 'options' instead of just one. theres a new 'medium ability' with 3 options and an ultimate. each basic has 3 levels mediums have 2 and ultis have one.

But I mean, Artemis and Avalon must be still babies, so they can't have any role in the campaign, do they?
Also, I would like to be in charge of the remmnant's heroes. I've been thinking and I can recall a few characters from the lore that would be very interesting for the plot.

It's also a forest in the Warhammer Fantasy realm/board game, I believe.

Why is it such a weird name for a person? A lot of names have originated from places/myths/legends, e.g. being named after gods or... hell there are even people called Arwen... and Frodo (I bet).

It is a fantasy anyway...

:)
