WARCRAFT III RE-REFORGED (RR)
ASSETS INSTALLER

INSTALLATION ON WINDOWS O.S.

  • DOWNLOAD THE ASSET INSTALLER
Download W3RRInstaller.exe from this page and run it in your Windows O.S by double clicking on it or by using the context menu.
  • FOLLOW THE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION
Follow the on-screen installation instruction presented in the installer. When asked, grant admininstration rights. As target folder, select your Warcraft 3 Reforged game folder (where Warcraft III Launcher.exe is located). You can install only the files needed by the campaigns you plan to play. By default, all of them are selected for installation.
  • REBOOT YOUR PC
In order to load files from your retail folder, where the installer will place them, the registry of your Windows O.S. will be edited. This edit is safe and performed by the installer. To make it effective, though, you need to reboot your PC.
  • DOWNLOAD THE CAMPAIGNS
To play, you need to download the campaigns from the apposite pages here on HiveWorkshop:Once a campaign is downloaded, place the related .w3n file inside the Campaigns folder in your Warcraft 3 documents folder. If this folder doesn't exist, create it.
  • PLAY
Run Warcraft 3 Reforged, select Single Player, then Custom Campaigns. Here, select the campaign you want to play. The appropriate locale, when available, is automatically selected by the game if you run the game in that language.

UNINSTALLATION ON WINDOWS O.S.

  • LOCATE AND RUN THE UNINSTALLER
You can find the uninstaller executable W3RRUninstaller.exe in the Warcraft 3 Reforged game folder (where Warcraft III Launcher.exe is located). Run it and uninstall all the content. Any other content not related to the project will be left untouched.
  • DELETE THE CAMPAIGNS
You can find the campaigns in your Campaigns folder. Delete them to finish the uninstallation procedure.

INSTALLATION ON MAC O.S.

  • DOWNLOAD THE ASSETS FROM THE MIRROR
Memorize the folder structure, for you need to copy it as in in the retail folder in your Warcraft 3 Reforged installation directory. Technically, you could just use the Archive Utility to decompress the downloaded files, so long you download the mirror folder on its entirety from Google Drive.
  • ENABLE LOCAL FILES
To enable local files on Mac O.S. you need to enable local files by typing in your terminal:
defaults write "com.blizzard.Warcraft III" "Allow Local Files" -int 1
  • REBOOT YOUR APPLE COMPUTER
To make the line above effective, you need to reboot your machine.
  • DOWNLOAD THE CAMPAIGNS
To play, you need to download the campaigns from the apposite pages here on HiveWorkshop:Once a campaign is downloaded, place the related .w3n file inside the Campaigns folder. If this folder doesn't exist, create it.
Please note that on MacOs this folder is hidden by default:
    To find it:
    • Open a Finder window
    • Press SHIFT+CMD+G
    • Copy/Paste "~/Library/Application Support/Blizzard/Warcraft III/"
    • Copy/Paste your campaign files into the Campaigns folder. If you don’t see a Campaigns folder you must create one
For additional information refer to this thread.
  • PLAY
Run Warcraft 3 Reforged, select Single Player, then Custom Campaigns. Here, select the campaign you want to play. The appropriate locale, when available, is automatically selected by the game if you run the game in that language.

UNINSTALLATION ON MAC O.S.

  • DELETE THE ASSETS
Remove all the assets in your retail folder. Make sure to only delete the files related to the project.
  • DELETE THE CAMPAIGNS
You can find the campaigns in your Campaigns folder. Delete them to finish the uninstallation procedure.

I have partecipated to the Rock The Cabinet 2017: Co-op edition contest for Starcraft 2 and my map, Mercenary Business made it to the top 10.

I was hyped beyond any imagination for Warcraft 3: Reforged, and while the disappointment was there, I saw great potential in the art assets and in the few but key changes Blizzard made to the engine. Mostly for fun, I tried re-reforging the first map of the prologue with better cinematics and now... well, now here we are. I guess it's already been a long journey, and I am really excited of what's still ahead!

Warcraft 3 Re-Reforged Installer (Binary)

I have made attempts again by renaming the receipt folder and reviewing the command i made. Here is the location of where i placed items with the essential roadmap highlighted to its more easily readable. And for Terminal, this is how i have put in the command. I dont know Terminal so as far as I know i did it wrong, but i dont know how. Any thoughts?
It sounds like you're messing up with the installation. Please delete the mod again, run "Scan & Repair" in your Battle.net app, reboot your Apple machine, and do what InsaneMonster suggested by completely reinstalling this mod & campaign.

For Mac users:
1.Download the required mod, then place "retail" folder in your game path.
2.Run Terminal and run the required parameter to enable Local Files.
3.Reboot your Apple machine.
4.Download the campaign file and place them into "Application Support\Blizzard\Warcraft III\Campaigns".
5.You're all set.

It looks like i managed it. I found the location. Essentially i searched Warcraft iii and it showed the locatons, one of which i hadnt found on my own. Clicked it and sure enough it had the receipt folder. So i took the items i downloaded from The Mirror and dropped them in. I have the textures and some of your assets like the beautiful moving tree. However, I believe i am still missing some. The menu images are still blacked out and during the cut scenes Thrall cannot be seen at all. I believe there must be skins that are not clicking into place. I recall it being said that things needed to be put into a proper order. I wonder what order is not correct since i have them lined up alphabetical just like in your downloads.

hey, excellent job on the campaigns!

any chance for a non-installer version for windows build? I'm running Linux, but Mac assets seem to have slightly different folder structures because I see some custom assets, but not all of them (e.g. heroes)

Hey guys, awesome job for the 2 first campains, I litterally screamed when I saw that the UD compain was out.
Unfortunately, my installer(windows) doesn't show any path of installation.
I tried to open it with admin rights, to turn off my firewall and antivirus and re-download the installer but could'nt figure what's happening. Do you think it could be mod-related or it's about my computer?
Thanks in advance

Hey, thanks for your suggestion. It turned out my display scaling was set to 150%, so I couldn’t reach the “Next” button in the installer. Sorry for the trouble. I’ve finished the installation and I’m currently playing the campaign. Thanks again for all your work(french version works perfect btw)

Help me solve this problem. I installed the installer and downloaded the map. It appeared in the additional campaigns, but the game doesn't recognize it.

Subject: Re-Reforged: campaigns show as "just another campaign" / empty

Dear developer,

I have a problem: the custom campaigns appear in the game, but they are labeled "just another campaign" and are completely empty (no missions, no assets - nothing).

What I've already tried:

  1. Registry key Allow Local Files is set to 1 and PC rebooted.
  2. Assets installed via the installer, then also manually via mirror.
  3. Tried placing assets in:
    • Game root folder
    • retail folder
    • retail\x86_64 folder
  4. Campaign .w3n files are in Documents\Warcraft III\Campaigns\.
Game version: Latest Reforged 2.0+ (1.35.0.19887)

Nothing worked. Campaigns are still empty placeholders. Any idea what could be wrong?

That's the issue I am afraid. Please read the post above. You need the latest retail version (2.0.4) from Battle.net. You must be playing on the older builds of Reforged which are mostly unsupported here.

Buy the game. If there are still errors then the others (maybe, even the author himself) will look on it.

Updating to be fully compatible with latest version of Undead campaign.

Released 1.2.0:
  • Added some asset data in preparation for Path of the Damned (Act III)
  • Fixed Sylvanas overwriting the default model path (now it's added to the campaign file directly)
  • Updated some data (especially AI scripts) to reflect changes in the various maps of the Undead campaign

Hi all, for anyone else struggling to getting this working on MacOS - here are a few of the issues I encountered and how I fixed them.
Note: I am playing WC3 through the native MacOS Battle.net app, not through Crossover or any other exe translation.

Custome Campaign files not loading

WC3 on MacOS looks for a very specific directory, and it’s not in your ‘Documents’ folder like it would be on Windows.
My WC3 installation came up with the error message below:
IMG_2946.webp

This folder is hidden by default by MacOS.
To find it:
1. Open a Finder window
2. Press SHIFT+CMD+G
3. Copy/Paste "~/Library/Application Support/Blizzard/Warcraft III/"
4. Copy/Paste your campaign files into the Campaigns folder. If you don’t see a Campaigns folder you must create one.

Once complete, it should look like this:

Big thanks to dziggyy on this thread for the answer!

Missing character models in cinematics

The hero character models were missing from the cinematics. At first I didn’t mind, but the Maestrom cinematic was unwatchable, and I really wanted to enjoy the campaign as the developer intended!
After looking through the asset files downloaded from the Google Drive link, I noticed that some unit models were missing - e.g. the ‘Thrall’ folder is empty.
I was able to solve this by getting a full set of the intended assets by running the Windows asset installer through Crossover. I pointed it at an empty folder, and then copy/pasted those asset files into my MacOS WC3 directory ‘Applications/Warcraft III/retail’.

Hopefully the Google Drive files can be updated soon for anyone else who wants to try! Otherwise, Crossover has a free trial to do this yourself.

Thanks!

Hi, thanks for the report! It seems some of the assets were not uploaded correctly. I'm reuploading now.

Reuploaded and fixed. Thank you again for the report.

Afaik it should not overwrite anything nor create any issue. It is designed to add assets that I use and not to replace existing stuff. A problem could occur if another campaign requires external assets in retail folder and for some reason they end up using the same path that I'm using. Which feels a bit unlikely but I cannot exclude that. If you want to play something not requiring the retail folder then there is no issue.

Hello.

Is there a fix for this? Arthas thinks he's John Cena.

Thank you in advance
