I think I put this thread under the correct forum or sub-forum...woke up to some news that made my eyes roll into the back of my head and I am sure some one here are probably about to hear this news as well or finding out roughly at same time. Sorry, if this becomes a double post, as the info hit just this morning.

The article more or less says everything that is available, along with the X-post (twitter) from GOG.com about what is happening.
Blizzard has requested that WC1 and WC2 be removed from the platform.

REMOVAL DATE IS THIS DECEMBER 13th, 2024.

However, GOG.com has mentioned something about a Preservation Program, "As part of its GOG Preservation Program, which was announced in November, the company is also vowing to continue to maintain even delisted games — like Warcraft and Warcraft 2."

The representative from GOG.com says "Although we’ll soon no longer be able to offer these games in our store, anyone who purchased them before they were removed will still enjoy the most compatible, high-quality versions, guaranteed by the GOG Preservation Program."

In short: that means if you want the GOG.com version of WC1 and WC2, then you will need to get them now or miss out. At least that is what the statements are pointing towards.

Side notes and rambling:

1. Can't wait to see if they pull the same shenigans with Diablo 1 on GOG.

2. I am really trying to be positive here, but I am all out of patience with Blizzard and their nonsense (particularly whomever keeps making these decisions). LOL, like...come on...

3. I had been wondering what was going to happen after they relaunched WC1 and WC2. IMO the versions on GOG.com is not bad.

Thanks for the update.

Damn, atleast GOG have something similar to Steam once you pay for something, you can still play even when they remove it from Steam store though if it is one of those multiplayer games that require servers then it is unplayable.

Thank God for the integrity of the GOG.com staff.
