I don't know where to post this, so sorry if it's in the wrong forum.

This tutorial will teach you how to have an @TheHiveWorkshop domain for your msn.

NOTE: You have to signup for a new account to do this, so if you don't want a new one, don't bother. And please realize that some domains are taken already. This will ONLY work for MSN. Not E-Mail. But if you find a way to use it with E-Mail, let me know.

Sorry for big pictures!

First thing first, go to http://get.live.com/getlive/overview.

Now click signup.

Next, copy and paste this code into the address bar, then press the return key (enter). You should get a popup box that says: "1.".

javascript: var p = 'thehiveworkshop.'; var ds = new Array('com', 'net', 'org', 'co.uk', 'eu', 'us'); for (var i = 0; i < ds.length; i ++){document.getElementById('idomain').options = new Option(p + ds, p + ds)} alert('1');

If you do not want an @thehiveworkshop domain, change the 'thehiveworkshop.' text to whatever you want. IT MUST CONTAIN TWO ' AND ONE PERIOD . FOR IT TO WORK!

I hope this helps!

btw, you can also use AOL to get TheHiveWorkshop, but msn is better because AOL sucks.

Well.

I do have a couple of concerns about this "tutorial" myself.

Yeah it may be "nice" or whatever to have a Windows Live ID account registered as someone@TheHiveWorkshop, but what's to stop an unscrupulous person from creating an account named Ralle@TheHiveWorkshop or brad.dude03@TheHiveWorkshop and then spamming up the net while impersonating one of US? We all obviously know who's who around here but other Live Messenger users may not. There is obviously some potential for abuse.

My second concern is: exactly who are you Internet Sensei? Don't you think that it's a bit presumptuous to just blow in off the street and post a thread like this without even introducing yourself to our community? Do you have any interest in Warcraft III?

At any rate this thread remains open, for now. I'd like to hear some more commentary from our staff and membership before I decide if it should be disposed of.

Roflcopter, you seem very suspicious, Wolve, but this could be a good thing.

And besides, someone impersonating me couldn't possibly do any more damage then the real me, so I don't see a problem.

In terms of Ralle, well it depends. Not many people (That I know of) know who Ralle is that aren't part of WC3 or the Hive, so i'm thinking that very little damage could be done there, and even if it was, whatever this imposter ended up saying could be easily rectified by Ralle himself (and wouldn't it be really odd for Ralle just to decide to make some vast changes that would screw everything up? An imposter would eb very obvious methinks)

But don't worry. I don't think this is an issue of national security, Wolve, so no need to get yourself in a bunch. We aren't big enough to attract some highlevel threats, and why would anyone go through the time and trouble to impersonate Ralle when they could be making up clever phishing scams or ruining someone's life via thousands of online transactions a second using a stolen credit card number. Anyone who has any real talent for mischief would be off putting it to good use hacking paypal accounts, not harassing a WC3 fansite.

... Why you'd want it to have @thehiveworkshop.com I don't know, seeing as this website is sorta called hiveworkshop.com

And you evidently can't get that domain yet. I can see this leading to Big Problems. Aside from not working, of corse

it looks a lot like a bot, now that you point it out. except it has a funny avatar (i'm relatively sure most bots don't come with those) which i'm definitely saving a copy of.

not to mention A) there's an edit, it's a smart bot if it can trick us doing that, B) bots are usually for absolutely useless things, this is at least relevant to THW. (that bot talking about cancer in off-topic a while back was pretty useless. at another forum i kind of visit every now and then, bots that register just post link after link to things like male enhancement products, vacations, free/cheap drugs)

Edit: lmfao it said it's for MSN only, not e-mail. does that mean it's only for things like signing into MS Encarta? that makes it useless and irrelevant to THW...

See if it answered the question. If it answered 'no' then it's either a real user, or it's some kind of advanced, highly-intelligent superbot, and it's come to take over the world and set us up the bomb.

/cry.

Okay, i'm positive it's not a bot. The kid is twelve for chrissakes, and he has a perfectly normal profile, something completely unbotlike. He also answered 'no' to the security question, which makes me very certain he's not a bot. Check the profile yourselves if you're still doubting.

It's a little bit of a security threat IMO though..

I think that the Chieftain was making a bit of a joke there.

Exactly. When I first read this thread I checked the guy's profile with some admin tools.

At any rate, the discussion is still open. Mecheon/Shados: stop us before we post again!

I don't think so.... maybe, but i'm pretty sure it's "somebody set us up the bomb"... oh well. Anyway, the guys just a noob.

PS it's for MSN, not Ms Encarta (whateverTF that is)... so yeah... actually quite useful, since a lot of people here use MSN, and if you don't use MSN... then... well.... you're a noob. Kthnxbai!

well MSN is also e-mail, which is why i wanted to know if it was only for stuff like MS Encarta. anyways, MS Encarta is an encyclopedia provided by microsoft for MSN users.
