i hope they take balance in a good direction like pump the game a bit flip it upside down and like buff the only unit that hasnt been touched since release of the first ever version of WarCraft 3 the footman.
it would be really fascinating if they could upgrade warcraft 3 so that it could support different rulesets of units at the same time. For example if you could play a game session where footman had 500 hit points, then another play session afterward where footman had 200 hitpoints, all without restarting the game program to launch a different version. If Activision Microsoft could invest hundreds of developer hours into making Reforged support this new concept, then maybe they could add a rotating weekly or daily game mode that uses a different ruleset for the units.
Tavern Hero Tuesdays where all the heroes at the Tavern are changed up
Water Wednesdays where the Naga race is available and all the other races can build Shipyards and boats
Flying Fives Fridays where all the races each have a fifth flying hero, five tiers on their town hall (so they can get all the heroes), five abilities on each hero instead of four
Magical Mondays where each race has more & different caster units, and heroes have a variety of different spells
Terror Thursdays where every race is the corrupted version of themselves. Corrupted Night Elves, Fel Orcs, Blood Elves instead of Humans, and the undead is stylized to include more demons and less undeads
But these ideas are all silly since they require the concept of a customized game balance function, where the stats of units could be changed on Reforged, so nevermind this will never happen
It's impossible to change the stats of units on Reforged even for a day, much less for a single play session. When Thrall came down from the heavens with the twelve commandments, they said:
- Thou shalt have a selection cap of twelve units
- Thou shalt have a build menu of twelve icons
- Thou shalt have four races with three heroes, totalling twelve heroes, unless if one hero is added to each race and eight heroes are available at a shop (adding only an additional 12 more heroes)
- Thou shalt have four races with three town hall tiers, totalling twelve possible town hall type buildings
- Thou shalt have twelve maximum players per multiplayer game
- Thou shalt have six items available per hero, and never more, for six is half of twelve, and two heroes who are in love can together hold a total of twelve items
- Thou shalt have only four abilities per hero, and only three heroes permitted per player, so that each player may only have twelve hero abilities at his or her disposal in any game
- Never shalt thou have more than 12 unit models in the game who are right-handed, for left-handed people are good creatives chosen by the Light to make new things
- If thou shall have boats, thou shalt have only three boat types for each of four races, totalling twelve types of boats
- Thou shalt have twelve ability types in the game that trigger a unit type change: (1) Bear Form, (2) Bird Form, (3) Metamorphosis, (4) Stone Form, (5) Burrow, (6) Barrage, (7) Berserker Upgrade, (8) Phoenix Morphing to egg, (9) Robo-Goblin Form, (10) Chemical Rage, (11) Destroyer Form, (12) Ethereal Form
- Thou shalt have twelve plus half twelve tilesets to color the ground, and each shall consist of no more than twelve tile textures
- Thou shalt have six attack types and six armor types, forming a combat system whose total number of types is twelve
... and the commandments have been followed ever since, for each of the two sets of 12 years that have passed since this game was announced
