Dude, no offense, but I think it's against the rules to promote your own projects in another person's thread...
EDIT: model looks cool, though in the model viewer, I think it looks a bit too... feminine.. the body shape, I mean. I dunno about ingame though.
His map is completely related to this model, and I'm sure lots of people here, probably even the creator of the model, are interested in LoTR maps, especially ones using some of the great imports from Hiveworkshop.
Yes, if someone posts about an "Orcs vs Humans" map on a model just because it's an orc, or a "The 7 Blademasters" just because the model is an edit of the blademaster, then such posts would be inappropriate. But for specific... "imported lore", I suppose I could say, such as LoTR or pokemon, people who are interested in the models are always also interested in finding maps that use them. If somebody posted a well-made map on one of GeneralFrank's tank models that used the whole collection, I sure as heck wouldn't complain.
I say bravo to this guy for making what everyone here wanted: A LoTR map that is actually well-made and using proper imports. Then again, if you've played SC2's version with zerglings and hydralisks, the bar gets lowered pretty far.
You are right, it is against the rules, but it's pretty obvious there's no harm done in this particular situation by what he did and exceptions are made every now and then when somebody does something wonderful that happens to unfortunately violate a certain rule without actually causing harm. I'd say at least 90% of the people who saw his post and clicked that link were overjoyed. Probably more, but I don't have any statistics and I don't want to go through the painful process of pulling one of those painfully hooked odd numbers out of my rear.
