In case you are wondering, Jim will be helping me rework the Haradrim Assassin (Saleme) and Saruman models from the ground up to mesh better with Warcraft 3. Here is a preview of the Saruman model currently.
Polygonaly (if that is a word) it is almost perfect. Saleme is proving to be much harder on the other hand.
As Jim rendered him in Blender, his wrap is a bit funny. I'm still working on the back so you only get to see the pretty side for now. :ogre_hurrhurr::fp::ogre_kawaii:
A design question for you, if you wouldn't mind.
Should he have a similar silhouette to a Necromancer, or a cape-less robed Priest? Basically short-ish or tall and should he have a hero glow or look the way he did in WotR?
hello, was that lightning dragon missile useful to you? did you find out a way to use it as a missile instead of a dummy? I really haven't found a way to get the death effect to show, if the model is as a unit
and overhearing your issue with WoW models, the major part of their humongous filesize is in their animations, being too smooth and whatnot.. the real filesize decrease will happen if the anims are cleaned of extra frames.. but WoW models being WoW models, they often like to glitch out and 'make the universe collapse' as Sellenisko has a habit of saying, when the anims are edited
Humm.. No progress on the death SFX on the storm wyrm i did for ya.. I suggest you find a way to use it as a missile instead of a dummy unit
OR.. if you have the model editor, go into node manager, edit the 'SFX' attachment (paperclip icon) and change the Path's extension into 'mdx' instead of mdl. then save and test to see if it now has death SFX as a unit
Checked those two model,
I think gandalf is WOW rip, and it's a very HighPoly Model, I can't seems to Reduce it filesize,
Another one, that one does not look like WOW rip, but it might be one (Or other game rip)
The Model is Extremely Highpoly and the Animation is really complicated, I can't Help on this
(And I have no Idea how to Reduce texture's size)
(The Reason ppl don't always use WOW model is because it huge Filesize)
