Unit wont Play cast ability animation

Hey i have ability that's based on channel ability. I set the animation name that's played during using ability correctly. But whenever i use my ability the animation isn't played. Btw my animation is Item ability. I use it from Item. I also noticed when i change it to hero ability and give IT to my hero then animation is played normally. But i need my ability to be Item. Any way to Play animation if its Item ability

make a trigger that makes the unit play the animation when the spell begins casting, and another one that resets its animation when it stops casting.

Keep in mind that Item abilities belong to the item and not the unit, which is why a lot of the things don't apply to the casting unit.
As DoomSheep said, use a trigger to either play the animation. Or to cast a dummy spell with the proper flags.
