Underlines under user names?

On things that list users sometimes I see some users names underlined. Most of the time they are mods/admins but sometimes they aren't. What's the deal with that?

Same for me and for other user pages I look at. Though Ralle does have a small + after his name on my page.

Lol I am both in your recent visitors , the plus sign means he/she is your friend. For the underline' i dunno

Ah, learned something new then.

As for the underline thing I haven't been able to find anything - a search just reveals that a lot of people want to remove the underline from their vBulletin, but thats about it. Maybe see if it persist by using a different browser or clean the cache? Hive has done weird things before that were fixed by doing thus.
