That's called "Self Illumination". You can find that in Material editor then Blinn Basic parameters.
You have to add keys in every start and end of an animation. You can use auto key and changeing the color from Material editor (only if you don't use a lot of frames) Or if you use a lot of frames go to dope sheet and find your texture material in shader basic parameters you can find self illumination color.
And add keys manualy.

I posted a tower from my barracks model so you can take a look and test it.

Thank you, I got it to work.

Now, is it better to have 2 materials, one with team color, and one without.
Or just use 1 teamcolor material on the whole model?

I have a big geoset that doesn't need teamcolor, and alot of other small pieces that do need team color. They all use the mortar texture.

If I used 2 it would save the game rendering time for the big piece that doesn't use the 2 pass material.

If I used 1 it would be one less material used on the model.

Which choice is better?
