Map Info:

An epic altered melee map with some miscellaneous features. You have to slay your enemies with the new spectacular spells and new mighty units.

Future update: New loading screen, and also, youtube video. Furthermore, an Arch Druid hero for the Night Elf race.


Number of Players: 10 Estimated Gameplay time: 30-60 Minutes


Features:


Gold Mines

  • Some of them contains 25000 gold.

    They are guarded by strong creeps.

    The creeps drop precious items which can increase your Hero's power much.

    Always conquer a second or third mine. This will increase your gold income very much.



Creeps

Like in every melee map there are easy, medium and hard-difficulty creeps. They drop sometimes really useful items. However, beware of the creeps, because most of them are very strong. But you will claim your reward because they drop several items such as artifacts and tomes.


Neutral Buildings

There are several neutral buildings, they are guarded by creeps, except the Tavern. You can also find two custon neutral buildings, such as Artifact Shop, and Mercenary hiring lodge.

  • Four Mercenary camps
  • Five Goblin Mercants
  • Four Goblin Laboratories
  • Three Taverns
  • Two Marketplaces
  • Five Fountain of Healths
  • Five Fountain of Manas
  • and other custom buildings



Custom Heroes

There are several custom heroes which are more powerful that the standard heroes.They have spectacular and special abilities, including Auras which may increase your troops' health regeneration or decrease the enemy's moovement speed. Each of them has their own advantages and disadvantages. You might find them helpful in harmful circumstances.

Human, Orc, and Undead have 3 Custom Heores
Night Elf has two only, but one of them has a healing spell, too.

Damage and Spell Name Detection

These two feaures help you alot during the game becasue you can see how much damage did the units of the enemy or your units take. You can even see the name of the casted spell, which allows you to react instantly, and try to awoid the spell.

Review

not much people play melee nowadays,you should make another map ^^

Thats not true at all... There are many people ( i won't say names) that play melee by will not just testing. I do that as well, but normally are Altered melee, i also play very much the standard game type ( i mean the maps that come with the game when u buyed it, like the campaings)

The Discription was good enough to make a review, stil there are things that might be non-sense because i don't played (due to crashed game).
There it goes:

Terrain: Very powerful, very well worked also the weather. = 1,00
Units: They look perfectly done. = 0,25
Buildings: the same as units = 0,20
Playablility: Very good, for it's a melee = 0,50

Weakness:
Popularity: very low, but considering the fact of being a melee map... = 0,05
Words: there are few words wrriten wrong, like on the loading screen, you should fix it = -0,05

Bad Things: Nothing too bad to being here.

Good Things:
Discription: Well done :) = 1,00
Dificult: not too hard nor easy = 0,05

Hi Warchief Aeon. At first, thanks for that review and for the rep+!.:thumbs_up::thumbs_up: I am glad that you like my map and the good things about it.
Yes, i am trying to do the best becuase i am new to triggers, but units are my strenghtness. Anyway, i will fix the mistake in the Loading Screen. Yes, i agree with the popularity, melee maps are not the most playing today. I am also planning to add more frozen models and icons and skins and abilities. :D
Anyway. do you suggest anything about my map? :))):thumbs_up:

I can't give suggestions for the map is too awesome... I think you should do what you think is right to do... but a little suggestion doesn't hurts :ogre_hurrhurr:

I saw in the screenshot Orc Buildings, maybe you should use custom models and skins for them as well. But i think you working on it already.

So I played it and here is what I think:
Review

Through Snow and Ice
Review by Noobieatmaps
Visuals: The custom UI was a plus and the terrain was well made. 5/5

Gameplay: Well, what much else can you say, it's a melee map. The creeps are harder as you said they would be, but sometimes all the creep camps make it hard to navigate. 4/5

Concept: Your idea of making the map focused on killing creeps worked well. However the custom heroes should have unique abilitys or else they are just another hero with a model edit and a few different spells. 3/5

Replay Value: See my comment on page 13. 4/5

Overall: 15/20 =4/5
+rep for a good melee map.

huh? why that? you are seeing how the map is good or how much you like it? you can't say that a map is bad because you don't like it's type! lol
I hate DotA maps but i did never judged them wrong like this exept if they rly bad triggered...

But again, what would I put? Maybe someone who likes melee maps would give him a higher score.
If I personally don't think melee maps have replay value, I probably won't mark any melee maps with a high replay value unless some pops out. I didn't judge the whole thing "wrong". It's that a high score would be wierd but a low score might be unfair.
I'm leaving my rating as it stands. You don't have to agree. It's just personally, I can't give it a high score in that area. I try to keep my reviews as fair as possible. He would probably get a higher and more accurate score from a melee map expert. But I am trying to give reviews to maps to help the creators in the areas I can, but I can't help in every area.
Would you say that to me if I said I didn't like a romance movie just because I don't like romance movies in general? It's all about perspective. I'm just trying to give him some general things to fix, but the review would be higher if I liked melee. I'm sorry if I screwed up a review because of preference.

Creeps are strong, i agree, but you shoud train mighty untis from the Mercenary Camps (see the picture in the description) and make a huge army with strong units.
Actually, i know that some people do not like melee maps, and you rated it personally 3/5, because you do not like melle maps very much. But i do not know why do not much people like melee maps, they are so entertaining. I suggest it to play it more often with all the 4 races. The Undead custom hero has the Death Aura which can coll enemies more often.

But i agree on that point that peope are different and if some of them don't like melee maps that they don't like. But i still don't know why not??

As i know, to judge a map you judge the Triggers, Doodads, Terrain, Playability, (sometimes) Popularity, Units (if is strong or weak), Dificult (if is easy or hard) and by the Discription. And few other things. Noobieatmaps, if u talking that i gave more points for the fact of being a melee map, u wrong, on my review the melee type was mean't to give the Map maker Rep point not to the map points... And i din't gave just because of the type, but also for how much nice is the map maker and how good he is. i din't judge anything wrong... To judge a map you must be general not personal...

i was wondering... Can you maybe gave a ROC version of the map? i think is possible if u open the map with the ROC Version Editor instead of the TFT Version and then save it. i woul like very much to pley your map but i don't have TFT Expansion installed because has been bugged...

Well if u wonder why i don't is because my Expansion has bigcrashed... Destroyed... it's just pieces of CD probably by now...

well, after all those things I wrote, I would be a dick if I didn't check this out lol, so I checked this.
My review should be quite short though xPP
All is good, some neutral hostiles need modification though, some of their camp range is so wide that when I attempt to build my second camp at another gold mine, sometimes a dragon shows up from somewhere nearby and starts wreaking havoc lol. Or when I attempt to build a tower to a key position, a hostile which has no relation comes up and destroys it along with my worker, annoying. Set their camp range and stuff shorter.
Some neutral hostiles have spell immunity, I understand that, but the bad point is apparently gryphon riders cannot hit them, lol.
And HUD is awesome. Some parts look annoying though, but I can't make a detailed explanation of which part is looking bad or what, I just can't lol.
Other than that, not bad.

Some info that i'd like to see on new version:
  • fix the infernal, they should magic immune, the golems are magic immune (it's their natural, that rock, and metals resist magical damage)
  • fix the icy golem!
  • fix all tooltips on hostile's merc camp!, they didn't appear to be displaying the ability owned by the creep
  • dael'barun(, or dael'chas?)'s power is too powerful, make him in normal size, reduce the damage a 'bit', and increase the rejuvenation's heal amount
  • add new ability(i'm making the abils at sat, just pray for my health)
  • the last one, but this will make this 'altered', make new race!

According to Luffy's request, i reduced the Tuskarr's acquistion range, and moved the dragon and some creeps a bit further. :D Well, use knights and other mighty units from the Mercenary Camps (mighty units, see screenshots) to destroy the infernals. What is HUD?
I think this is the challenge in my map that you have to rase a huge army to kill the creeps and your enemies.
According to rysnt11's request, i reduced the damage of the Dael'chas, and i gave him a stronger rejuvenation ability. I will fix the tooltips, too. :D
Anyway, i hope you will be healed, too, and i hope you will be in better health. :DD Can you make the abilities in my map?
Well, Warchief Aeon, sorry, but i cannot make you a RoC version since Icecrown tileset is only available in TFT, so try to ask your friends about it, or donwload it thourh the internet. :D

oh, and meanwhile, I forgot to mention some other flaws though, new additional heroes at altar of kings require no food, and they can be trained more than one.

cycled part is HUD, and orange cycled part is the annoying part, lol (but only for me) that scythe thing you know, I think it looks bad there.
