Thievery Campaign (Levels 1 - 6)

This bundle is marked as high quality. It exceeds standards and is highly desirable.
Thievery Campaign
Parts 1 - 6

Thievery follows the adventures of Rahkan, a famous Satyr thief. When Rahkan stumbles across a big score, his greed may pull him down a path he could not forsee.

Thievery is a campaign focusing more on stealth than combat. Sneak around enemies, solve puzzles, fight bosses, assassinate weak enemies, and collect gold and items. You will find it is somewhat akin to Zelda games.

The campaign is difficult so you want to make sure to save your game here and there. Keep in mind that Rahkan is very weak and can die very quickly. Look before you leap.

Parts 1 through 6 complete. More coming soon!

[9-21-09] Update: Fixed some patrol errors.

[11-20-09] Update: Some minor fixes and updates as I work on Part 5:
- Enemies that are immune to your skills will now display "Immune!" above their heads if you attempt to use the skill on them.
- Fixed a minor bug in Part 3 where you could approach Raz's shop using an unintentional path through the forest.
- Revamped the Soul Shard system to allow more inventory space.

[11-24-09] Update: Fixed a small oops I created in the last update.

[2-14-10] Update: Level 5 complete! I've decided since progress is much slower than I'd hoped, I'll just release each map as it comes out instead of in chapters. In addition to the release of level 5 (which is, in my opinion, the best one yet), I've also updated a few things:
- Opportunity will now show floating text if you get a successful combo.
- Lucky Rabbit's Foot now shows floating text when it comes into effect.
- The stun from your Stealth ability can no longer go into effect while you are still in stealth or after stealth has been broken. It now will always work on the attack breaking stealth.

Along with level 5, I've also added a button on the campaign that allows the game to search your game cache for old version saves so that you can go straight to level 5 if you've already completed levels 3 and 4.

A quick note: I've used two custom models in the map and I can't seem to find the authors' names. If you are the creator of Aura.mdx (The hero glow model) or the ItemKey model I use, please let me know so I can give you credit. Thanks!

Have fun!

[Update: 3-3-10] Added custom art and changed the titles of the books in the library puzzle in part 5 to clarify it a bit.

[Update: 3-14-10] Minor update, reduced filesize a bit and attempting to get the minimap preview to work on The Hive.

[Update: 4-4-10] Fixed a major oops I created in the last fix that caused Small Keys to be invisible!

[Update: 4-7-10] Double oops!

[Update: 6-27-10] Level 6 complete! For those of you who have already completed the previous levels, just click on "Load Progress" on the campaign screen to jump straight to level 6. Lots of custom music in this one, don't forget to turn it on! In addition to the new level, lots of small updates have been made to previous levels. Enjoy!

[Update: 6-30-10] Fixed a small bug in part 6.

[Update: 7-1-10] More bug fixes. <3 cleavinghammer!

[Update: 7- 22-15] Fixed broken screenshots.

Hey Bob.

If I may: Enhance Sumir's second form a bit. Make an ice bolt to swirl around him. This way it'll be harder to touch him, you'd have to go after or to follow the ice and then be able to hit him.
Or just make something real cool up :D

Sure, I'll tell you some places to go to. First of all, leave the yard by using the circle of power again.

Before using your newly gained key on the main doors, you can go back to the 1st teslanaut room you encountered and use the key on the door to the right to unlock a few extras. Don't worry about the key, you'll get another one.

When your done doing your stuff, go back to the elevator after the 1st library room and use the key on the door to the right. Solve the puzzle and continue onward. Most of the teslanaut parts are held by units, be careful not to get killed.

After you're done with the Shadow Clan and libraries you should have 3 parts. Go back to the broken teslanaut, repair it, and get ready for a great fight.

KILL THE MORTAR TEAMS!! :p

After you're done with these guys use the blue key to get to the last bad-ass boss. Beat him, and get ready to play yet another amazing part of this campaign.

Am I the only one for who saving takes progressively longer and longer until the game crashes on level 3?

Save/load times are a definite issue with this game. To be more accurate, it's not a problem with the game itself so much as the medium the game is made on (WarCraft III). On the larger levels - Chapters 3 and 5 - save and load times get progressively longer as the game has more and more information to store. While this has never resulted in a crash for me, it certainly has been jarring to immersion. I'll repeat my earlier comments:

Problem: So obviously these puzzles require some trial and error. In my case at least, they take a LOT of trial and error. (I can't tell you how many times I got killed by that damned patrolling boat in Chapter 3.) With gold being limited (there's only so much in the level for you to find), the player is sooner or later going to run out of Ankhs. With the levels being as long as they are, it doesn't make much sense to keep starting the level over, so the player in this position resorts to saving and loading, which eats up a lot of time... time in which the player is not actually playing your game. This is most frustrating on the timing-based encounters, where the player could potentially be sit at the loading screen for 45 seconds (or more), play for 15 seconds, die and have to load all over again.

Suggestion: Remove the stack count for Ankhs. (In other words, give the player an unlimited number of them.) The player already effectively has unlimited "lives" since they can save/load as often as they want, and making this change takes out the loadscreen delay.

Just a thought.

I want to point out that this issue has been addressed somewhat in Chapter 6 (the map as a whole is smaller/shorter, cutting down on save/load times, and there are way more Ankhs floating around to pick up, reducing the reliance on saving/loading). However, the underlying issue does remain.

Since this is primarily a puzzle game, having a limit to how many tries you get on each puzzle doesn't make much sense, especially since the game does have a built in load system anyway. I really think making the Ankhs have unlimited uses will solve this issue and be beneficial to the game overall.

Unlimited ankhs takes some of the challenge out of it. With unlimited lives, you don't care if you die. Hell, you could kill something you're not supposed to be killing by just constantly running up to opportunity it, dying from 1 or 2 hits, reviving, and repeating. There are places in the game I don't want this to be a possibility at. While I agree that saving/loading might be lame, the maps being challenging is very important to me (I still think the campaign is too easy tbh). That being said, I have often considered adding an easy difficulty for the campaign that allows unlimited ankhs. It may be something I end up doing in the future.

As far as the Battle Ship on level 3 goes, the last update should have helped with that a little bit. I added an obelisk that you can attack to summon a scout owl for you that will make the Battle Ship easier to avoid. Hopefully this will make that encounter a bit more fair.

Oh, also, if anyone knows if there is a way to reduce the increasing save/load times, please let me know.

Hey! :)
Guess what. In the second level there was an annoying Militia Elite that wouldn't move (he was supposed to be patrolling)!
I wasn't paying attention, so I didn't notice it was a Militia Elite. I used stealth then i hit him and used opportunity, but it said "Immune!", so I ran away. Eventually, he went all the way back to the end of the hall, and stopped patrolling. So he was just sitting in that spot, and I couldn't continue because there were 2 more guards near him =_=

Hmm...Now I'm not a big fan of cheating but if you don't have any recent saves, its your only hope. Just kill him and walk away.

Stuck in level 3

Killed the squeaky rat and got the keystone. But, I cannot reach the door, unable to hook to the target as there is lot of mess in between.

When I am running thru the island, sneaking thru humans, they are detecting quite easily. Is this correct? Do I have to advance thru humans only or there is some way to reach that temple door? and yes, the stone is not opening the huge door either.. Help pls..

Tired of running around the map !

This campaign is really cool ! Congratz for the job

But i'm stuck in level 5 : I'm in a corridor with a gate protected by 2 archers, 2 footmen who can see invisible units and several militias. There is also a siege engine that can be moved, but I really don't see how to use it. Anyone remembers how to get through this?
Help plz...

Hey, really cool map, is really awesome!! but i found 2 bugs

a) if you hookshot any guard and inmediately go invisible and run away, they will lose their patrol command and just stop were the hookshot left them.
b) at the temple, there was a part that i couldnt pass, and i cheated with the Large box pushing it through a door and then hooking to it.

right now im stuck at level 5, lit bit after killing the puppet masters, where the tank is. Im not sure where do i have to take it :/

5/5

EDIT: Oh lol! I've just figured out what to do with the tank (siege engine) =) K00L!

You access it while playing with Xevec. Use the portal that soldiers come out from during the sorceresses fight.

I'm not sure but I THINK you can go there using Rakhan too.

Iight, I'll give it a try with him, if not I'll open my saved file with Xevec.
Thank you ;)

EDIT:
I've just tried, Rakhan can also get in there, but...
he can't pick the Xevec's upgrade, therefor not being able to acomplish that optional quest

I´m stuck in chapter 3. Im on the islands with these annoying humans. In the north of the first island I tried to hook me to the next one. There are some large creates but I can´t reach them. What should I do?

edit: The problem solved itself. Great campain. Greetings from Germany.

edit2: Next problem. There is a foot switch and next to it a skelleton. This switch rise an elevator. It leads you to a floor with three other foot switches. What is the solution I don´t get it.
P.S. Sorry, for my bad english.^^

You "push" this tank to the Teslanaut room you previously passed and charge it. After you're done with that, "enter" the tank and squish them little humans to hell.

Everything with ""s around them are done by attacking (A).

Ah, thanks for pointing that out. I'll update this when I can. For now be sure to save here and there in case stuff like this happens.

Edit: Let me clarify, with the elevator, you're supposed to use him to press the footswitch down. Push the crate onto the elevator, distract him onto the footswitch, and then push the crate up to the second footswitch. To get down, distract him off of the footswitch. Do not kill the guard or you will be stuck as you stated. I will have to make it so he's error-proof.

Also, please comment and rate if you enjoy it!

Glad to hear it! Chapter 6 isn't supposed to be the final level, there were 10 levels planned total. Unfortunately the release of SC2 has killed my motivation to work on the last 4 chapters :(

As in, you won't work on them for a while or will we never see the remaining chapters? (pleasebethefirstpleasebethefirstpleasebethefirstpleasebethefirstpleasebethefirst...)

Well I hadn't really been planning to work on it anymore at all. Though I suppose if the interest is high enough I could cut a level or two and finish it up with 8 chapters total. I don't think many people play wc3 anymore, though :(

I still play it! Campains like yours make the game better. Without all these campains I would already stopped to play WC3. It would be sad if you don´t finish this campain.

this game sucks ass
If you mess up any thing during the game... BOOM, game over, you have to restart it cos it doesn't have any source of Checkpoint

I highly recommend you to add one, cos keep saving games every single minute is a pain in the ass

Your game is FULL of problems, like if you ever missplace some crates or kill some guards you can never go back...
Checkpoint highy recommenedd

Uh... there ARE checkpoints as long as you have enough ankhs. And you can reset crates with the levers.
