Im making my first map and its an orpg style map using resources/tuts from THW. Im doing great (i think) for a noob lol. but the main idea behind it is every few updates there will be an expansion like update with new heroes, items, quests, monsters, dungeons ect, right now there are 12 playable heroes with plans to have around 22 + 5-ish secret heroes

some features Ive added are:
Quests
Re-spawn system
max level 99(Higher each major update)
Cinematic Into/Story Line(Original)
Info for almost everything in quest log(F9)
Detailed Terrain
Some Custom Items

Things I plan to do/add are:
Revamp few heroes
Multiboard - Whos playing, their hero, gold, Quest Points and Kills/Deaths
More custom items
1st dungeon - scripted battles/mobs/loot tables/details
-save/-load system
no single player unless you guys think i shouldent.

but i need help with few things
on the multiboard make it resize to fit everyone thats in game not the full size for 12 players(like i said im a noob, lol)

i have no idea how to go about a save system

idk how to make it so you only have 1 type of item (e.g. 1 helm, 1 armor, 1 boots, 1 weapon ect)

Custom spells? without jass?

Just download and copy the triggers and script in map name and ur done with it.

the aoe from the 1 skill guy is ur skill? i think its pretty decent, kinda OP if u ask me but a skill like that lil tweaked would be cool i'd like to know the process on how u made that as a refrence if u just used gui, but im thinking u would be a good partner on my map if i knew wat else u could offer =]

1 question i saw when you finished the q and talking with the npc to give back the q it gives xp to all?

One thing, your hero does not have a fitting icon. try to find an icon maker or request one from the icon makers here on the hive.

No need to rework the quest system. Just make it like this:

Each player takes his/her own quests, and can finish it with his/her teammates. When a player is within range when the quest requirement is met, then his quest gets complete too, but the claiming would be up to them.

It would be like this: You take your own quests, you can help each other out in quests since it's shared, and you claim your own quests after you get the required quest items or whatever.

To avoid something like 2 groups doing 2 different quests, then claiming both, thus getting them extra exp, then add something like: you need to be in range when the quest requirement is gotten, or has been taken. If not, then you would have to do the quest again to be able to finish it.

Edit: Plus, naming your map with your own name isn't a good idea. Adding a name for it like "The Requiem", "The Mist" or something good, helps in making your map lore. Plus, adding ORPG to the name of your map is too mainstream nowadays, you could just make the thread title into: TheRook (ORPG), instead of adding ORPG into the map's name if you release it.

Oh wait, I remember some of these icons, these could be found on the icons section lol. I remember the model you used for the assassin guy, I used that model too, I think there's an icon for that model if I remember.

I do remember the icon for the warrior guy, but I was too lazy to search on the icons section. And if I do that, maybe those icons wont fit with the ones I made so I just made all of em despite them having their own icons

k so ive had some help but guy poofed after sometime and i change map up a bit aswell as renamed it for better lore(as suggested in above post) right now im working with spell books but its kinda hard to understand, i need save/load custom spells and a multiboard, below are a few pics to show wat ive changed, and plz give me feedback, i wanna know wat u really think.

ps ima do a realm series, dif realms dif story lines ect

pss. since im new still, i need a partner to help on this project, not some1 who will up and disappear in the middle of crap -.-
