The internet wont die anyway. You would have to sustain a DDoS attack against the 13 root servers for a very long period of time in order to do that. Even then, IP addresses can still be used.
Hey! He only represents 50% of America! And that doesn't include people below the age of 18 either!

Ah fair enough, fair enough. But still, on a world scale he's the only thing people end up looking at when they see America, and it's a shame.

I find the only thing that puts 25% of Americans in shame is MacDonalds and Subway. Sorry if any of you are like that but that's just my view.

The internet is not doomed, face it. You'd need at least 1000 pro hackers to get into them systems, they are probably bluepirint required, eye thingy and even special card, on top of a massive code...

    Brad...cough

Well anyways Thanks for the advice on pre made sites brad, I am new to Tech, my computer and grammar skills need more work.

Back on topic: You may never know if the internet can die, this dude sended like millions of large files into the internet and made everyone lag for a hour or 2 till the gate keepers or whatever forced deleted them. Happened 2007? The internet doesn't have infinite amount of space, if hackers get more powerful they could close it for good.

But then again, if new servers and firewalls come out to protect and enhance the internet, then the internet would get larger and safer.

Not really, just like the post before, if one person can send huge files into the internet and make EVERYONE lag for a hour, then 1000 hackers could just right click the internet and press *delete* The hacker kid was like 17 and he wasn't that good with hacking, on youtube he showed a video of him hacking runescape and everyone knows that hacking in runescape won't get you banded now.

Not all 13 year olds suck using the internet, some made millions like the kid I posted in the beginning of the thread.

FYI: Older people just tease you since your short and young, screw them, you don't pull muscles that easy as they do:)

Were getting a little off topic about the "How America's reputation sucks"

According to the person who started the idea of a "virtual spiderweb"
"The webs of the spider will live on forever and ever" (my own words)

We don't really need to worry about it.

According to religion the world is suppose to end 2011, however theres a bunch of times the world was suppose to end aka any dates with 6/6/6 or the year 666, though we're still here to live through the end of a era, thatd be fun.

Back on topic.. In the matter of Internet running out of resources.. I really don't hope so.. What would I do without any Internet :O .. I'd be bored to death.. I might even be paying more attension to my homework.. xD

No one cares about religious beliefs when the world is gonna end... only thing thats gonna kill us is a Nuke war(Either the Americans or Jap's or Russia or Iraq are gonna start this) or global warming.

The internet is doomed in this term by 13yr olds and younger when they start too spam or type in caps or make no sense at all.

Only way to prevent this is to get parents to stop buying the internet for them or put one of those child locks on your computer that don't work.

Global warming is not going to end the world. It's going to be a big problem, it will raise sea levels and destroy lots of land. However, it will not destroy all land.
13 year olds aren't ruining the internet, the only problem would be too many people using too much bandwidth (eg. all those giant files people like to download).
Even then, the problem is that it wont satisfy all the demand. It will satisfy most of the demand.

Yes I know but global warming can cause the next ice age.., and and the internet is doomed for people who download "Games / Movies / Music" because most of the sites are being shutdown, and to prevent this i think they should just ban sorten Location IP's.

Like ban the canadian Location IP.

To check age, make it so only Internet Cafes can have the internet.

Why would hackers destroy the internet? Without the internet, there would be nothing left to hack and they would be bored.

I agree with the banning of under 13s from the internet, they take too much space. I guess if the internet slowed down too much, you could delete all the porn. Pornography makes up 75% of the internet. Who needs that much? No one. If we delete porn, we would also remove a massive amount of users. Next, we delete MySpace, Facebook and their equivalents. After that, we delete the majority of blogs. Why so many people think their lives and pictures are so important I will never know.

BTW, with 2011, apparently aliens are meant to descend to Earth that year, according to some ancient Egyptian text/tablet. I can't remember what they are meant to do though.

Ugh and the Mayans say it's supposed to end in December 2012. Who the feck cares? Its all a bunch of BS anyway.

And getting rid of porn wont happen. As sad as it is, it's been one of the longest-existing and largest markets on the internet, and people aren't gonna just give it up, especailly when it's their money they could be making.

And even then you'd need to take out the backup servers, and even then the DNS of your country, ISP and even local region have IP records for all the sites looked at recently. And, as you said, you could still reach other pcs by going to their IP directly.

A: The ONLY thing right about that is that the internet is not doomed.
B: If you know nothing about a subject, don't try to wildly speculate about it to make up for your lack of knowledge. Either don't talk about it or learn about it.

    Source link?

Again, please, study a bit on a subject before ranting about it.

But its like 5% of 16 yr's and under are smart the 95% are just like when a hillbilly meets a Toaster or his sister. (Retarded) (i can back this up with prove of cause just look at people who listen to Rap or fight of a silly address code.)

And plus i agree about removing blogs but please keep
Myspace / Bebo / Netlog / Facebook only good ones around.

And the internet will never be doomed untill evolution is reversed or idiots start posting Porn Spam onto forums or sites. So the site providers will have to shutdown free sites creation and start to make everyone having to pay for a site or forum even if its a basic one.

And i also agree with the sentence "Ban Porn on the Internet" Come on seriously who in their right mind would prefer to have like 20-50mins time with their hand ? I rather spend that time with my GF.

So who would decide what is good to keep? And how should it be decided?

See this is the problem with the Internet. You can't say that the crappy things shouldn't be uploaded. If people wan't to put it out there then let them. I'd rather that than having someone controlling everything i upload or post to check if it's good or not.

I was only saying too keep those up if people started to shut down blogs because those have age filters. But people can still lie about their age.

Do you realise how much distress that would cause? Schools, Colleges, Buisinesses etc etc. Also, if you made a poll saying Do you go to an internet cafe? You would get say 10-20 yes' and loads of no's. Also, they charge ridiculous money or say you must book a computer.

But seriously, internet is getting better, not worse.

The internet isn't really going anywhere IMO. If there is a problem, it will be spotted years ahead and dealt with, and if not, like the dotcom bust, then we'll find ways to adapt, and come out even stronger, as you see now with web 2.0.
