Turn one or more race(s) of neutral Creeps into a cohesive and fleshed-out faction - anything that would exist as a Melee (as opposed to Campaign) Neutral Hostile unit in the World Editor is fair game! Here are a couple of good links for valid Creep options: Link 1 and Link 2

Your design should reflect the aesthetic of your chosen Creep, and the faction’s gameplay should feel true to their identity.

Theme
How well the various elements of the Faction (including aesthetics, gameplay & design) fit together in a thematic manner such that they feel like they are representative of the given Faction, as well as that of the chosen Contest Theme. Well-fitting & polished aesthetics which complement a cohesive theme will be graded well; poorly-considered or lacking thematic elements will result in a poor score./25

Gameplay
How well the various elements of the Faction work together to achieve the tactical synergy & gameplay style the Faction has, as well as how efficiently each element performs its particular function. Strategic systems that endow an identity to the Faction, comprehensive & well-though-out roles which complement a cohesive Faction will be graded well; ill-considered, insufficient or over-compensating roles will lose points./30

Creativity
How original the design of the Faction is in terms of innovative ideas, clever implementations, or creative concepts. Innovation and creativity will be rewarded; extensive re-use of existing elements in vanilla factions & poor originality will result in a poor score./45

Hey, we made it! This was a fun contest, I look forward to seeing how we all do although I am equal parts excited and nervous 😅

Honestly a tough bunch of entries to put only three votes to! So my votes went to SgtWinter's Forest Trolls, Althavis' Unshackled and MyPad's Coalition of Creeps. But honestly all these entries deserve a vote for the amount of love put into them ❤️

I also didn't read & voted for only 2, lol. Maybe GhostThruster will allow us to make an amended vote that he just counts manually?
I sure hope so! We've had polls before that let you change your votes retroactively, not sure why this one doesn't allow it but it might be because it's counting multiple votes per user, or something else.

Let's hope nobody misclicks and accidentally votes for themselves!

Good luck everyone !

And remember, Critters are experiencing quite the bloodlust lately. You wouldn't want to get on their wrong side, would you ? :cute:
These guys would beg to differ.

Earthworm Counter?

Kidding aside, these are the entries that I've cast my votes for (in no particular order):
  • Critter Revolution- Marchombre
    • I liked how unique the entry is from the rest. The critters are finally taking a stand against the oppressive players of Azeroth for exterminating their kind in fear of espionage and reconnaissance from their enemies. That said, it was rather challenging to adapt to the armies the Critters field for battle (especially the 5 DPS Roaches), but the giant earthworm would more than make up for it (yummy ground units).

  • Forest Trolls- SgtWinter
    • I like how natural the Forest Troll faction presents its power spikes in terms of tool utilization for combat purposes. The variety within the faction evolves just as naturally as its town hall progresses, presenting countermeasures to army compositions that threaten the early army fielded by the player in a manner that feels just right.

  • Air Elementals- Kyrbi0
    • Given the context that this was developed in the 1.26 version of the map, it holds up surprisingly well in Reforged. That, and the models just ... blow you away. I could feel the gentle breeze of the wind and the fury of a hurricane when these Air Elementals arrive in the battlefield.
Now that those entries have been addressed, I present my feedback on other entries that I've played:
  • Ogres- WinterSnow
    • The Ogres feel bulky and oppressive enough that I didn't even go with expanding to Tier 2 and Tier 3 units. The Tier 1 melee Ogre unit had enough health that I could field a decent amount of them to tank the frontlines while the Tier 1 ranged Ogre unit slings rocks at their targets. Certainly, this faction allows you to unleash the strength of the Ogres against the foolhardy Sentinels (map setting) and other major factions standing in your way.
I haven't played the rest yet, but I'll post more messages after playing them. I look forward to how the Coalition presents itself in front of the players.

These guys would beg to differ.

Well, thanks for the vote
And yummy ground units, indeed

I, for myself, did see I could vote for up to 3 entries, but I was like "yeah, need to check the updates on those one, so I'll come back later". Ended up as "well, I guess that was my only vote" :xxd:
