Genre: Competitive Team Assault / Dungeon Crawl

The first public, open beta version has been released to battlenet! You can play by searching for "Storm the Base" at the create or join custom game screens.

Important! - Do not move or remove the computer players from the lobby! These are used to check what teams people are on. (If you know of another, surefire way to detect teams, please post here.)

In Storm the Base, heroes assault checkpoints defended by swarms of enemy player-controlled zerg, as part of a fast-paced multiplayer competitive dungeon crawl with intelligent human adversaries!

The viewpoint in the video above is the defending zerg force, and the attacker s controlling a "Marshal"-class tank hero who tanks with summons. My objective is to hold him off as long as possible. There can currently be up to 4 players on each side, and 6 possible heroes (two are completed, four in development). The number of Zerg units are limited only by supply, giving you endless waves of carnage! Zerg gameplay is inspired by the real time strategy game World in Conflict.

Currently, the Zerg win if two checkpoints are taken when the 15-minute time expires, the map ties if three or four are taken, and the heroes win if they take five checkpoints. Eventually we're going to have various different possible win methods. One win method will be a system where the teams switch after 15 minutes, and whichever team gets further wins.

For more information, see the project's page here:

Storm the Base!

Since this is a dungeon crawl, we're planning on making base bosses! Some ideas are on paper, and we're going to test them once done with the 6 heroes and their abilities. Our long-term goal is a mod system anyone can easily create maps for with basic terrain and triggering skills.
