With fdformat, the command line to use for 1.68 MB formatting is:

fdformat a: /f:168

..., which leads to only a 40 kB difference against DMF formatting iirc, for which the command line to use is:

fdformat a: /t:80 /n:21 /c:4 /d:16 /m:240

... according to my batch files.
