Well, i just thought i'd show you guys some of my non Warcraft 3 terrain stuff. It's still terrain, but not Warcraft 3.

Nah, you have to edit a bunch of values and crap and keep messing around with it to get the right effect. You still edit the terrain, create water and stuff, place the light, etc. The program just renders it.

I was going to say that is Terragen, in which case I didn't find it at all difficult to make something look really good in little time.

Nice, yet it is Terragen, its simple as HELL to make pretty terrains in that program <.<
Btw, is it Terragen or Terragen 2? I believe it is Terragen since there is no objects like trees and so on, on the pic

You have to add objects using another 3rd party program, and i never bothered to look for one compatible with terragen, even though i'm sure they've got links to them on their website.

Hmm, that's new, they hadn't released a demo for TG2 last i checked, but that was a while ago.

It's rendered too slowly to be playable in real-time. If I'm not mistaken it uses a raytracer to render the scenes, and currently raytracers are a no-no in gaming.

I do know a game that is in development, able to render massive scenes in real-time...

They raytraced Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, and got like 30 fps, so i have a feeling it's on the horizon.
