[SOLVED] Give reps to posts in a closed thread

I just noticed this today, why aren't we allowed to give reps in a closed thread? When I find something helpful I always give rep to it even if it it is a decade old. I hope this will be allowed.

Just tried it here
Music Contest #13 - Yin & Yang
and it works. You can't reply but you can give reputation and a comment along with it.

I think you're right. I realized some subforums have restrictions with sending reputations, especially in Something Else

I think it's the only forum which has disabled reputation and your posts there don't add up to your profile's post number count.

It's because old inactive threads are fake-closed to prevent necro-posting. It doesn't prevent posting rep.
