SALVE! QUID HODIE AGIS? Thank you for taking the time to come to this page and I hope you all will enjoy this pack as much as I did making it. This started as an addendum to the Maniple pack I am working on but realized it would better serve as an independent pack. This pack is independent of HerrDaves original Roman Infantry pack and uses exclusively in game textures. This pack is meant to cover the Roman military from around 550BC-300BC which is the Late Kingdom to Early Republic. The army was a mixture of Etruscan, Greek and Italian Influence. Ultimately its failure during the Samnite Wars resulted in its abandonement.

This pack includes:
  • Patrician
  • Plebeian
  • Servian Agricola
  • Servian Colonus
  • Servian IClassis
  • Servian IIClassis
  • Servian IIIClassis
  • Servian IVClassis
  • Servian VClassis

SPECIAL THANKS: Gigantic thanks to HerrDave for letting me use his assets and teaching me most of what I know. He helped clean up models like the Colonus and IVClassis otherwise they may have been cut as well as helping me refine the others.

Here is Daves page make sure to pay him a visit: HerrDave

Please add sphere collision shape/s to all models Review accepted by Footman16
haha nice pack, its just their faces seem identical.
This is an intentional design decision at this point. I have not added more faces for 3 core reasons:
1. The Romans themselves for a large portion of their history socially stigmatized having facial hair especially between the years 200 BC to around 100 AD. Even before and after this facial hair was not popular as we see through art and sculpture though there were those who had them. Facial hair was seen as "barbaric". Beards became increasingly popular in the Medieval or Byzantine period though.

2. Consistency. Both Daves pack and my original pack keep similar faces. This adds a recognizable "OH ITS THE ROMANS" to the pack as well as future packs so no matter how much the outfits differ there is a recognizable consistency. Further I do intend to make Etruscans and maybe even Greeks (way down the line so do not bank on that soon) and they at times had very similar outfits to Romans. Thus choosing certain faces and hairstyles for each helps them look distinct from each other for game-play purposes.

3. Heroes. By making a generic face for the Romans the Hero units with distinct faces will stand out more than they otherwise would with a more diverse head shape for the army.

We got a ROMAN WORKER now, hell yeah!
Really cool to have all the alternative villagers and fighters too!

edit: i forgot about the Tironnes from your first pack.
Each pack I am trying to have include one worker. There is the Tirones ( A recruit. Easy to miss in that giant pack), the Agricola (Farmer) here, the Fabri (Military Engineer) in the Maniple and so forth. I do intend at some point to make a Pleb Woman and Patrician Woman for more ancient Villagers.

Oh me...and can I get an "oh my!"

Everyone take my 5-star with salt, though salt is valuable in the Roman Sea. Going to have to test these later.
Salt is where we get the word Salary from and how Legionaries were paid for quite some time. Hope you have a great test!

Thank you everybody for the kind words and reviews. It is always appreciated.
