“The Roman greatness is a proof of the excellence of their legions...”
-Flavius Vegetius Renatus

SALVE! QUID HODIE AGIS? Thank you for taking the time to come to this page and I hope you all will enjoy this pack as much as I did making it. This started as a request to HerrDave but over time talking to him I realized he is a dedicated and busy man and I could not drop such a thing on him. Thus I took it upon myself to make these. I have always been a huge fan of Roman History and even formally studied it at University so I intend this pack to be comprehensive. While it is not 100% I would argue this covers 90% of the possible ground infantry options between 27BC and 235 AD. This works in tandem with HerrDaves original Roman Infantry pack and is meant to compliment it not replace it.

This pack includes:
  • Roman Aquilifer
  • Roman Auxilia
  • Roman Baliaricus
  • Roman Centurio
  • Roman Fustibalus
  • Roman Imaginifer
  • Roman Legionarius
  • Roman Optio
  • Roman Praefectus
  • Roman Praetoriae
  • Roman Signifer
  • Roman Syriacus
  • Roman Tirones
  • Roman Vexillifer

Upcoming:
  • Pilum and Rock Projectiles
  • Roman Cavalry Pack

This pack utilizes an Omni-skin, meaning you only have to import the skin once in order to use the entire pack.

SPECIAL THANKS: Gigantic thanks to HerrDave for letting me use his assets and teaching me most of what I know. He helped clean up models like the Tirones and Signifer otherwise they may have been cut as well as helping me fix some issues with others. I would also like to thank Sunchips whose cleaned up Shaman attachments helped streamline the Signifer (Unfortunately he has been offline for many years now).

Here are their respective Hive Pages I highly recommend to pay them both a visit: HerrDave Sunchips

Very nice collaboration i like your style of model making german man
this amount of variety is amazing
Thank you very much I always appreciate it when I see people happy from something I worked on.
Rome Total Mod
Love Total War but I had to ignore them to make this. Though Medieval 2 will be the basis for the eventual Medieval Roman pack. Surprisingly accurate for a Total War I would say.
Holy and Rome
Appreciate it but I also have to say the Holy Roman Empire is a different country and era from this pack.
It's cool, but "Lorica Segmentata" is not very good...View attachment 503577
I was trying to keep a thematic consistency with Dave and Vanilla. Also I am quite new at this so one day perhaps I will be able to make better Romans when I have more time. Also I did not place greaves on the Legionary because only officers wore them unless there was special circumstances.
Awesome! Can you do a version of Battle Chariot
The Romans did not use chariots in direct combat however as late as Constantine the Great Emperors used them in ceremony or to command troops. Expect one with the Princep himself on it in the Cavalry Pack.
It's just... not much better stuff.
Models are not optimized and it is just derivative work. You could at least have done the former. Oh well.
I am sorry if it is not the best I am still new I thought I had optimized them. When I begin the next pack I will also do my best to optimize this pack further. The derivative nature is inevitable in regards to the Romans since their military was designed in such a way where everyone looked the same and had the same general skills and equipment. The difference seen is due to the ceremonial roles like the Signifiers but they still carried Pilum and were trained the same as everyone else.
Adding a worker and some spell-casters is a nice addition. Makes it more complete.
I would love to see some Battle Elephant crush them.
Really glad you liked it. I wanted to make sure I covered any major Roman roles and ranks. Only one I was unable to make is the trumpet guy. One day perhaps.
You made my dream come true. I hope that someday there will be a pack of Gallic/Celtic and Greek soldiers. And also Germans, Scythians and Persians from the time of Parthia/Sassanid Empire.
Glad I have. Do not worry the Sassanids will be coming I did further research following your message. Their pack is planned after the Romans are all done and optimized (I moved it up because it would be easier than the Han Dynasty pack which I want to do when more veteran). It will be 3 melee infantry, 3 ranged, 2 cavalry, 1 elephant and the Shah.

A very excellent work, it would be better if some heroic units could be added.
That will be its own pack in the future. None of these currently have the glow to give players the flexibility to use the hero glow attachment for their own needs.
I sense imbalanced stats in them already...

Praetorian cape is not purple?
It is team colored so you can have it be the color you want.
You've made a lot of Standard Bearer variations which is great and I love it. Velite javelin throwing soldier would be great. They wore animal fur on themselves as well.
The Velite was already phased out of the army by the era of this pack. Most infantry in the Late Republic and Early to Mid Empire had Pilum that they threw before melee. This effectively made any type of javelin dedicated infantry redundant until the Comitatus reforms of the Mid 3rd Century. I plan to make one for the Mid Republic pack. In the meantime if you need one Dave has a model called "Scarlet Huntsmen" that is very similar in this pack: Scarlet Crusaders (Pack)
