Hmm I don't know if that could help - but I think you should totally clear the forum. Specially the "Warcraft III Modding" part. If you look there you have hundreds of Pages and so old posts that no one need anymore.

Another couple of pages are full of posts that you can't view anymore. Maybe someone should start to clear them - I think if this done the server will be more stable. Also I don't think those server problems comes up if there are hundreds of members ^^

( Also I know you can't do the clearing stuff alone - but maybe you can ask friends of yours or ask some dudes on hive - I think some got skills with this ^^ )

lol.

Guys, there's probably just too many people on at a time.
Hive is huge. It makes sense that you could have a too busy server. I don't know about all you, but THW is incredibly slow for me.
And I have good internet.
It's not slow for me, and I got poor intarwebz. The only problem is the "server is too busy" messages.

Deleting those will only free up a bit of hard drive space, which isn't the problem. vBulletin does this "server is too busy" stuff when the server's under heavy load. Meaning its processor is busy.

A. His desktop uses Windows, Virus could be taking bandwidth
B. Linux still needs fragging sometimes
C. That is a statistical impossibility
A) It's not a bandwith problem, it's a problem with something taking up processor resources on the server. If it was just bandwidth then the hive would load slowly but there wouldn't be any busy messages
B) Most likely not a defrag problem since this only started happening recently. If it was a defrag problem it would've been getting gradually worse over a long time period
C) No u

There's no more users on these days than there were a month ago, and the server was just fine then. :\

The server is indeed running Linux.
It is unlikely that the filesystem is notably affected by fragmentation, especially since the database resides on a separate partition than the rest of the site data.
Also, a few significant problems are now resolved, so hopefully performance will improve.
